Essential&Mosin, Is David 'the watchmaker' who used rubybearings for the Rabco and moded the armwand? In the 80isor even before? The Rabco was/is very popular in Hollandbut the aim by modifications was to make the arm lighter(aka MM carts). So...

Kisawyer, If you post the pictures of your Rabco to meI can see what parts are missing (btw 'et'=@). You havemy e-mail address and don't need A'gon as intermediary.I bought then an incomplete Rabco for parts but never usedany.

Hi Kisawyer, You got my e-mail address so you should explain to me which parts you need. I can then look if I have those and decide if you can get them for free ornot. Your Rabco is not my problem but yours.

Hi Kisawyer, I have some somewhere in those boxes in whichI accumulated all kinds of parts during 40 years of thisenigmatic hobby (nikola et andric.com). I hope they deednot accumulate to much rust meanwhile.
Need an inexpensive phono stage
I just ordered the Jasmine LP 2 in China for my secondsystem as upgrade for my NAD PP2 which was about $100 .The NAD was recommended by Sterophile if I remember well. The NAD is pretty good for the MM carts but not so forthe LOMC's.
Looking for a $500 or so phono preamp -- BC23 ?
Redglobe, I am curious myself. First about my first 'Chinese', second about the import duty (32% in Holland). Alas there is no member lookup anymore.Regards,

I assume that everyone who intend to buy a 'new' (other)phono-pre will do some search before he or she decide. We are discussing pro and contra about some of those withina peculiar price range. Nobody can force the other to buywhatever. BTW the usu...
Who needs a MM cartridge type when we have MC?
Dear Lew, If your wife is not allowed to see your postintended for us you can make a copy of my 'reasoning' aboutthe 'jewels' and plastic. May I conclude that you also fancy the ruby 'jewel' more then 'plastic' sapphire?Regards,

Kennyman, The Chinese are not such a diligent workers aswe assume. They just came back to work from some strange Holyday whith 4 free days . I made an offer on their price (ebay.uk) and they made an counter offer ($421 + $75 postage). I asked for ...

Vidmantas uses sapphire bearing for his Reed tonearms whilesome other tonearm producer with an Italian name usesruby bearings. The only difference seems to be the colour. But to me ruby looks like jewel while sapphire looks like plastic.

This thread is about MM carts so no 'substitution' withother kinds is correct. BTW 'synonyms' are not about reference but about sense (Frege, about sense and reference).

About the names. Supstitutio salva veritate is a logicalrule based on the assumption that whatever is true aboutthe object A will stay true regardles the name we use torefer to the object A. Say: Vienna, Wien, Wenen, Bec ,etc.Shakespeare also deed...

Storyboy, Is this not what MM means? If there is any movingmagnet in whatever MM cart the only place where they can hide or proudly exposure themself is in the cantilever. Or so I thought.

Redglobe, Thanks. I somehow assumed that the designer(s)should test and listen to different capacitors before implementing them. This btw is stated by P&R regarding all the 'parts' in the new Jasmine. I don't believe that 'saving on something'...
