Do they make a quiet great sounding phono pre amp??
Hi unchilled, Our psychology or rather vanity is glad to see orhear any praise of our own stuff. Raul's praise would imply thatsuch a worthy phono-pre would have more owners than onecan deduce from the (lack) of their reaction. Anyway I expectedto...
Time to choose: Baerwald, Lofgren, Stevenson ?
Well solving a problem and adding to a problem are different ,say, approaches of the problems. We , I think, solved the problem statedby chakster. We even reduced the problem to two choices byconsidering Lofgren/Bearwald as the same solution. For t...
Electret transducer cartridges vs MM and MC. What are your experiences?
Dear Dave, The case is that information for free has paradoxical consequences. You started this thread so we are free to askquestions for free. Which kinds are available , where and for whatprices (grin).Kind regards,Nikola
Krell KRC-HR and Marantz TT15S1
I just bought Klyne 7 PX 3.5  which has not separate inputs for MM and MC carts. But there are two ''banks'' with switches one of whichis for the amplification (36, 50 and 63 dB) and the other for impedances and ''frequency  contour'' by which one...
Clamp, weight, or nothing?
We often use the ''opposite'' in order to explain something.Well does the ''outer platter ring'' not explain the use of ''clamp''?
Who needs a MM cartridge type when we have MC?
''Brands'' or ''trademarks'' belong to the so called ''intellectualproperty'' which is registered and protected according to the''national laws''. My Basis Exclusive for example has different''brand name'' in Germany than abroad. The more dramatic...
Who needs a MM cartridge type when we have MC?
Hi florence4, I mentioned Z-1 SAS stylus but those are notanymore produced. The new Jico is ''neo SAS'' with sapphirecantilever while the old one was boron. The stylus should bethe same because  ''SAS'' is the sign for their stylus shape.
Electret transducer cartridges vs MM and MC. What are your experiences?
Dear Dave, I ever started a similar thread ''induced'' by Carr whosuggested to extend our MM/MC discussion to the ''other kinds''.He was , alas, the only member who reacted to my thread. My reaction is, alas, not a kind of contribution but rather ...
Who needs a MM cartridge type when we have MC?
Raul was ''of course'' the first who mentioned Victor X1 , sorry,JVC-Victor X1 . But it took me two years to find one. The pricewas $600. To put this in some kind of context I will tell you thestory about my dad. He asked the farmer for the price ...
Time to choose: Baerwald, Lofgren, Stevenson ?
The correct deduction will be true provided the premisse fromwhich deductions are made is true. Is the premiss of this thread that we all own just one cart? I own more than 40 . Consider then my geometry adjustment byear for them all. With the Min...
Time to choose: Baerwald, Lofgren, Stevenson ?
Hi pryso, If you mean with ''general rule'' any standards by cartor tonearm producers then , as J. Carr stated, there are nosuch rules. The arguments for Stevenson are rediculous as putforward by chakster. Consider my records collection of +/-3000...
Eminent Technology ET-2 Tonearm Owners
Hi Dave, Thanks for your best wishes. I feared to be killed by the admirers of this ET 2 tonearm because of my comment. Except by Chris who is my former compatriot and not from Croatia. I see that you are refering to ''Electrets '' carts. J. Carr ...
Who needs a MM cartridge type when we have MC?
Dear Florence, As you can see the price does not matter forRaul. That is probably why we have not seen one single new cartfrom him since he come back to this thread as well why he isselling his whole collection of carts. He is an expert in doublem...
Eminent Technology ET-2 Tonearm Owners
Dear Chris, This thread begin to look like the MM thread. Theresult of the last mentioned is that at present everyone preferMC carts. So it seems  probable that the participants in ''your''thread will at last find an decent tonearm (grin).
Time to choose: Baerwald, Lofgren, Stevenson ?
By Yip , the owner of the Mint Arc protractor ,one can order specifictractor calculated for the owners TT and tonearm. Yip has thedata of the most tonearms but needs the (exact) dimensions of thespindle in addition. Those are not of the same dime...
