Thinking of taking the plunge.
I use my old MacBook for streaming, with a software program called Amarra Lux, which is compatible with both Tidal and Quobuz. I use the DAC in my amp, and the result is really good. With the money I save on a streamer, I can spend more on speaker...
Products you added to your system in 2021 that made most impact to your music enjoyment
I upgraded my speakers from KEF R300 bookshelf to Spatial Audio Sapphire M5s, open baffle. Next, I went from an SVS SB2000 subwoofer to a REL T/9x. The KEFs were sounding a bit tinny and shrill, so getting the large Spatials really smoothed things...
A Record Collection/Moral Conundrum - What Would You Do?
I would track him down and send an email expressing your intention of selling the collection if you don't collect the payback on your loan within 30 days. Make a paper trail that spells out the situation. If he could burn you once, he is probably ...
Who are the Stand Up Guy's and Gals in this Audio Industry?
Clayton Shaw at Spatial Audio is a great guy to work with. It's his company and he stays engaged with his customers. You can call or email him.
Has anyone else had success streaming with Audinirvana on a Mac?
I am currently using Amarra Luxe, which is much more reliable than Audinirvanna. It costs less too, but does much the same thing: when engaged, it basically changes your computer into a dedicated streamer.
Has anyone else had success streaming with Audinirvana on a Mac?
I can no longer recommend Audinirvana. Fir the past few months, it's playback is glitchy. Skips and jumps through the songs. And they must know because many users have complained. No fixes tho.
What Is The Most Romantic Song That You Have Ever Listen To?
Crazy Uncle Van M, "Have I Told You Lately."
Love for Spatial Audio Sapphire M5s
You may already know this, but the company is run by one guy, Clayton Shaw, who designed all the products. Before I bought my speakers, I watched a bunch of YouTube videos of Clayton at audio shows, and so forth, and was impressed enough to call h...
Suggest one obsure album we all should hear
A band (solo artist?) called Whitley put out a great alternative pop album in 2007 called The Submarine. You can check it out on the streaming services. It's reflective, introspective, and packed with cool sounds.
Has anyone had tech difficulties streaming through AudiNirvana?
The Audinirvan rep said it must be a defective amp. I am getting a circuit repaired for about $100, and then I will try streaming the app again.
Has anyone had tech difficulties streaming through AudiNirvana?
Thanks for the feedback. The Mac seems fine with everything. It might just be the amp isn't compatible for some reason.
Lost all hearing in one ear, is it worth upgrading speakers?
I woke up one day dizzy, my ears badly congested, and suddenly I had lost most of my hearing. I soon recovered the hearing in my left ear, but the hearing in my right ear didn’t improve after several days. To top it off, I now had tinnitus in that...
Do any of your Rolling Stones recordings bring "Satisfaction"?
Physically, the London-label LPs hold up well over the years. Their pressings and vinyl quality seem solid. As for the sound, the Stones are not a clean band, but a grungy sounding one by choice. They used a mobile recording system during the Exil...
Greatest debut album
I was really taken by the first albums by these bands:ChicagoRyan AdamsElvis CostelloSantana
White Album Deluxe Anniversary edition
I have found that the physical quality of new vinyl, across the board, is hit and miss. About 1 in 7 pressings, even on on 180 grams, will begin to pop and crackle after just a few plays. I have a quality cartridge, but it makes no difference. Why...
