My experience with The Music Room
I like TMR and have had good experiences with them as a buyer. But before you buy a used item from them (or anyone), I suggest requesting the serial number of the item so you can check with the manufacturer on its actual age. I bought from TMR onc...
Have you asked yourself this question?
I own about 400 records, purchased used, and the ones I've kept are without surface noise. Including the cost of my vinyl rig, I've made roughly a $12,000 total investment in the platform. That $12,000 could get me a decent streamer, but not a top...
Vinyl Lovers
Find sellers you trust on Discogs and go back to them and only to them. That's my suggestion. I have 5 or 6 go-to sellers that never do me wrong. It took some trial and error to land with these guys, but so well worth it. A few of my sellers of ch...
Can I Trust The Music Room's Product Description?
I bought from Nick too, I believe, and he was great. This time wasn't as smooth, but they are working with me now to make things better. I learned from this experience. Next time I buy used from any dealer, I will ask up front if they can tell me ...
Can I Trust The Music Room's Product Description?
Yes, The Music Room did address it. Although they can’t get the Chord 3-year warranty to me, we going to work out a compromise solution. As many users on this site attest, the company seems to have a good support team that responds to customer iss...
Harbeth 40.3's. Should I buy them?
Why doesn't your wife doesn't like the Spatial X3s?
Thinking of taking the plunge.
I use my old MacBook for streaming, with a software program called Amarra Lux, which is compatible with both Tidal and Quobuz. I use the DAC in my amp, and the result is really good. With the money I save on a streamer, I can spend more on speaker...
Products you added to your system in 2021 that made most impact to your music enjoyment
I upgraded my speakers from KEF R300 bookshelf to Spatial Audio Sapphire M5s, open baffle. Next, I went from an SVS SB2000 subwoofer to a REL T/9x. The KEFs were sounding a bit tinny and shrill, so getting the large Spatials really smoothed things...
A Record Collection/Moral Conundrum - What Would You Do?
I would track him down and send an email expressing your intention of selling the collection if you don't collect the payback on your loan within 30 days. Make a paper trail that spells out the situation. If he could burn you once, he is probably ...
Who are the Stand Up Guy's and Gals in this Audio Industry?
Clayton Shaw at Spatial Audio is a great guy to work with. It's his company and he stays engaged with his customers. You can call or email him.
Has anyone else had success streaming with Audinirvana on a Mac?
I am currently using Amarra Luxe, which is much more reliable than Audinirvanna. It costs less too, but does much the same thing: when engaged, it basically changes your computer into a dedicated streamer.
Has anyone else had success streaming with Audinirvana on a Mac?
I can no longer recommend Audinirvana. Fir the past few months, it's playback is glitchy. Skips and jumps through the songs. And they must know because many users have complained. No fixes tho.
What Is The Most Romantic Song That You Have Ever Listen To?
Crazy Uncle Van M, "Have I Told You Lately."
Love for Spatial Audio Sapphire M5s
You may already know this, but the company is run by one guy, Clayton Shaw, who designed all the products. Before I bought my speakers, I watched a bunch of YouTube videos of Clayton at audio shows, and so forth, and was impressed enough to call h...
Suggest one obsure album we all should hear
A band (solo artist?) called Whitley put out a great alternative pop album in 2007 called The Submarine. You can check it out on the streaming services. It's reflective, introspective, and packed with cool sounds.
