DK Design Group X-Dream - wow
Crack is a lot cheaper.
You might be an audiophile if...
You need to sell your excess audio gear to pay for taxes you should have been saving toward instead.
Any heard of Porcupine Tree?
Yes, though I'm at best a casual fan. I came into them through their inclusion on a space rock boxed set from Cleopatra records (featuring an older, more "space rock" long guitar/synth jam track from maybe '96 or so) - I find them like a modern Fl...
Good/great preamp with ht pass through? Thoughts?
I'm using a Cary SLP-2002 that has this feature and I love it. I also considered the VTL 2.5 before purchasing the Cary though I was not able to audition either beforehand. Both looked like great units and to be honest I don't remember why I chose...
Which companies also offer good service??
Rogue and Mondial are at the top of the class.
What's the funniest song you ever heard?
"Run Red Run" by the Coasters!Nonwithstanding their other classics "Along Came Jones", "Charlie Brown" and "Yakkity Yak", "Run Red Run" has all the elements you'd ever want in a humorous song:GamblingBoozeGunsA monkey who gambles and drinks boozeV...
Center channel to complement Klipsch Fortes
Tim has given you the time-honored advice on this one. I was a former Forte II owner, have lurked the Klipsch forums, and the KLF-C7 comes up time and time again as the favorite match for Fortes + Choruses.
If Rowland made PC cases.....
HushPC is the closest I've seen, though I haven't seen one in person. Not cheap, but nothing of quality ever is.
William Schaefer Monitor's
I'm relieved - at first look, I thought this said "William Shatner Monitors".
Opinions, Is this better for the Members?
It seems as if the site is trying to encourage resolution of disputes through the feedback process so that anything for which a negative WOULD be left has a chance to get worked out by the parties before the feedback is permanently recorded. That ...
speaker with high WAF
On the affordable end of the spectrum, I have to second the Meadowlarks (in my case: Swallows + Swan). Biggest "free pass" I've ever gotten in audio, my wife is overjoyed at the wood construction + the appearance. I'm overjoyed at the sensitivity ...
NEC 602 ext drive has a digital out. Any others?
Sitting here right now listening to a NEC 602 at my computer desk, fed into a CI Audio VDA1 via a $20 Wireworld UV3 coax cable. Accompanying are: CI Audio VPC1 passive pre and McCormack Micro Power Drive, AE Aegis One monitors, Analysis Plus Oval ...
quicksilver amps and preamps any thoughts ??
Hi Mike. To answer your question, I have never run out of power with the Horn Monos on the La Scalas, and I've gotten them up to "pictures falling off the wall" levels regularly. The Rogues had more current swing and slam (120 watts a side can do ...
quicksilver amps and preamps any thoughts ??
I'm using Quicksilver Horn Monos with a Cary SLP-2002 preamp and Klipsch La Scalas. Jaw-dropping transients, superb detail, clarity and fullness. The Horn Monos are dead quiet and a great match for the La Scalas. I used Rogue M120s before - way mo...
