my bad for not refreshing after a day. the offered opinion:"Interesting. I thought the SR devices do not affect the sound or the listening environment, they only relax the listener so the music becomes more enjoyable. Are you that easily affec...

Perhaps you thought wrong about the SR devices. It's possible from your limited understanding of what's been published. It's bliss, I'm sure.

I'll take this sickness any day over the one that commits small fortunes to an RV or a boat. I can enjoy my sickness every day of the year! Boats and RVs, not so much for most.  Talk about the most enjoyment possible for the dollar? Give me my ste...

"So exactly what is "social" justice, anyway? I mean, besides virtue signaling."  Hmm, might want to move into the current world, and learn about more than what net worth means...   Some folks even believe in causes other than audio.I think the O...
REL subwoofer questions, Storm III and/or Stadium II
I think nmmusicman is on to something with that suggestion. I have a B1 and a Storm III, and occasionally use only the B1 high-level (with speakers not requiring it). Storm III ended up in TV room with Elacs.I don't have experience with newer R.E....
Most rooms don’t need acoustical treatment.
Provocative premise?  He could have said "Mono always beats stereo!"  Or 2+2=5.   Regardless, I'd guess most who care about their sound would agree the premise is incorrect generally speaking.Let's say most rooms will benefit from acoustic treatme...
If you don't have a wide sweet spot, are you really an audiophile?
I guess my point is that to me, the true audiophile requires the best his/her system can deliver. Trying to do that for multiple positions means you are going to sacrifice the best. That's okay if that's what you want.I do not buy into the thought...
Taking time (and time outs) to enjoy the ride...
I fall into that category plenty enough.  To remind myself 'it's the music' I'll go back and listen to my LPs on the modest Planar 3 setup or (laugh) play my 20-30+ yr-old cassettes (made on a high-end Denon deck in the day) from new LPs or CDs. T...
If you don't have a wide sweet spot, are you really an audiophile?
A guess tossed out earlier (perhaps too boldly):"It’s great to want a large sweet spot, if you use it, and if you have company that can actually appreciate it. But, understand you are not getting the very best your system can offer. It...

bobby1945-  Thanks for your post. I value input from the 'others' in the home that don't normally pay attention. By your statement, it appears that your younger 'other' (normally folks with decent hearing) knew there had been a change. Curious if ...
For Your Edification and Enjoyment re "Burn In", etc.
We're pretty far away from our original conversation but,I had to break in Scansonic MB2.5 speakers as they required a lot of movement for stiff rubber surrounds. It was weeks of face to face, out of phase playing. I listened periodically and the ...
Which speakers did you find bright, fatiguing or just disappointing in some way?
As requested, these are just speakers that lived in my home. I've plenty of opinions on metal domed and diamond tweeters as well as horns in general (and that's ignoring brands that never did it for me).Genesis II+  (1978, not the known Genesis co...

I sleep like a rock (my wife doesn't and hates me for it :-)I want those darn things for my stereo first!Better sleepy-time for my spouse would be a nice bonus.  (Just don't make me choose one benefit!)
