How do you judge your system's neutrality? Bryoncunningham- You name two instances where I deem no conflict. Although I rather like the punctuality of the timing in my system, I could see testing that against what you advocate. As far as I know, clocking is a separate entity, and will not ...
How do you judge your system's neutrality? Byroncunningham, I was reacting to comments made by posters above concerning digital vs. analog. Sorry about Neutrality to me defines a system that provides a sound bereft of self noise, or the large part of it. Frankly, I think that is very tall ...
How do you judge your system's neutrality? I kept believing that digital didn't have it because folks like above said so, and their accumulative wisdom should be right. Then, I seriously started mining the information stored in the 16 bit CD. The deeper I dug, the more digital gave forth. ...
Mark Levinson 37 transport or new cdp today..? I just bought a 47 Labs Flatfish transport and matched it with my kick ass modified Audio Note DAC, and the combination is phenomenal. The cool thing about the transport is it has no drawer. It is a top loader. I have run through a lot of DVD play...
Are there any constants in speaker wire designs? stranded cables sound soft in my system. Round solid wires have great detail and clarity, but roll off the ends. Thin, wide ribbon sounds far the best on my system.
Comparing two integrated's... Don't have advice, but I would like to know what changes you noticed when you first used the PSA transport.
Digital Amps vs Solid State Amps Alan, There are just eight allen screws holding that top down. I know he put V caps in some of them, while others just have one Theta. I can tell you, I have had all three versions here, and the Sonicap Platinum is by far the best. It assists the ...
Digital Amps vs Solid State Amps Aljordan, Can you tell me what bridge caps are in your H2O? I installed Soncap Platinum, and the result is perfect in my system.
Ice h2O S250 digital amp vs Levinson 333.5 If you would like to write to the recording fellow I spoke about, he goes under the acronym chadeffect here:http://forums.audiogon.com/cgi-bin/fr.pl?vaslt&1199909346He can tell you how he did it. I use the H2O Fire preamp. It is expertly match...
Ice h2O S250 digital amp vs Levinson 333.5 If you do decide to go with any ICE amp, you will have to adopt a different cabling, sources and preamp strategy. So, it is more expensive than if you go with class AB, which the Pass 300.5 is. I heard the Pass XA 100, and 300.5 on my speakers and...
Any one else like the class D ICE power amps? I like that last line..... "Well, that's their loss."
The best speaker you ever heard? Tvad, my system sends live orchestral music recordings to hair raising dynamic range, yet will do far less justice with amplified rock music. There, the live music is going to be blared out to the stadium audience in massive horn loaded speakers s...
Preamp for Magnepan Check out this user review of the Fire preamp:http://www.AudioAsylum.com/forums/amp/messages/13/136780.html
Best U.S.A. speakers? No one mentioned Apogee. Properly matched, there is no peer, would me my bet.
Best Amp to drive my Apogee Stages? I heard the KSA 100 and 250 driving systems elsewhere. There has been a whole lot of improvement here, and a lot of developments with audiophiles I know over the last 3 years. |
