"D" amps, general discussion who's 1 and why?
Class D amps, ones that are superbly designed, can approach reality given the right system gear. I can show you, Coffeey, how I can make my, "Amps," sound edgy, fuzzy, bright, and/or distorted just by inserting a regular CD player, off the shelf w...
How to reproduce sound of piano
"If you were to hear what a piano like this actually sounds like in a living room, I don't think anyone here would be claiming that his system quite reproduces that sound."I am not sure what your point is.What we have is a hundred year old piano w...
How to reproduce sound of piano
My Apogee Scintillas, source a no oversampling DAC, can not only do a piano accurately from the lowest A key to the highest C, but at full volume as well. We have a nice piano too.

Coffeey, I fail to see you have the experience to make such a sweeping generalization.
The best CD Player for the money
Dana Carvey came from my world dontcha know. OVERSAMPLING on my system, and the very fine SET systems I know suck. Plain and simple. It is a system thing.

Dcstep, Unlike me ;D, my system is very very sensitive to everything..... especially criticism :DMy Scintillas have 40 feet of gossamer light naked ribbons. And they just do HF. The highs are audibly infinite. In conjunction with my H2O amps, twic...

Hooray!!! Make lots of plaques, for my system, and class D and SET system owners I know who have tried NOS DACs as well.
The best CD Player for the money
Tvad, I have heard lots of oversamplers on other systems that would make the NOS players sound wimpy. There, does that suit you? My system shows the outright supremacy of NOS over OS digital. The difference is not small.

Dcstep, quit chewing on my leg. There is no RFI/EMI environment around my audio gear. The ICE module's radiation is minimized by B&W and the H2O's very heavy barriers do the rest. If you notice, I am also using 6 ft. of Speltz ICs to reach the...
The best CD Player for the money
Tvad, I am reporting what is happening here, with my system. No, other systems will probably not mirror my findings. That does not negate the amazing things I am finding about with my system. You assume to much saying anyone reading this exchange ...
The best CD Player for the money
Tvad, this is not a question of preference. It is a question of live vs. Hifi. Everyone who has listened to the difference here agrees with me. One recent visitor brought a very loved SACD player. He now owns the AMR-CD 77.All I need to do is run ...
"D" amps, general discussion who's 1 and why?
I had been talking about my system, yes. Mind you, it is not my system that is causing the insulated cable hiss, non insulated cables do not hiss. Honestly, I don't know why anyone would pile money into cabling. My house is open to anyone wanting ...
"D" amps, general discussion who's 1 and why?
Dcstep, the Lambda does not cause the speaker cables to hiss. It was definitely the cables. I have no interest in picking on Cardas. All cables that have more than a minimum of insulation talks. I can literally put my ear to my ribbons and hear no...
"D" amps, general discussion who's 1 and why?
Dev,ICE makes the modules. Great amp designers, the ones who understand the principles of good basic conventional amp design, have the best chance making great ICE amps. Henry Ho works out of Texas building his amps and preamps there. If you look ...

Tvad, that is not the case at all. My doors are open for anyone who believes they can change my mind. Should the challenger prevail, I will humbly acquiesce.
