ICE Amps for classical music?
Ait - Yippy yi aye!"""""In my opinion, they are much more the "straight wire with gain" amplifier than any sort of sound-shaper."""""You couldn't be more right. Yours post is a great example why there are so many opinions of class D amps.I too use...
ICE Amps for classical music?
An ICE amp has to mount a great speaker to convey reality. I have been working to harness the ICE amp wild pony for years. Now we are riding over hill and dale. The question is not only which ICE amp to buy, it is what you have to do to make them ...
SS balanced preamplifier for Krell FPB 400cx
Haroon, have you looked inside the Fire? If not, how can you say it is not a balanced design?

The Fire preamp.
Cable Confusion
Are we talking about speaker cables or interconnects? I had - have - Anti-Cables. But, I use speaker cables much more like the Mapleshade. They are DIY ultra thin copper ribbons. Following the Anti-Cable disdain for dielectrics I kept the insulati...

My experience - long - with class D amps is that the PCs need full shielding That goes for all the components. Quite the opposite is true of all the other wires. Speaker cables must be naked as possible. I am using ultra thin copper ribbons thinly...
Speaker Cables
Bigotb, no no no...... Symo was the choice twenty years ago. It was Jason Bloom's best shot back then, but the world has turned since.

Speaker Cables
Cyclonicman you took the words right out of my mantra. Actually I have gone one better than the Speltz ware (home made and just as cheap), but it may not work as well over longer lengths.

MrTennis, I have all the recorded music I had 10 years ago. The sound the recordings produce have been evolving with my system. Everything has been changed out over those years including speakers. The speakers made the most difference in sound. Af...

Audiofeil and Soix are correct. Back on topic, I owned the X-150 and upgraded to the X-600. That was a long time ago. I have never looked back on my evolutionary journey through class D.
Pre Suggestions Krell KSA-250 & Apogee Scintillas
How high can you go? The Fire is best of all at 5k.
Best Power Cord For Digital Amps
You are so correct in your assumption shielded power cords are a must. Oddly just the opposite is true for interconnects, but that is another topic. I have found that different PCs can make a difference, but it is always a, "More of," what is ther...
Pre Suggestions Krell KSA-250 & Apogee Scintillas
Still on the Pacific Coast. Outsiders think we Scintilla owners have to get old big bruiser class A amps to power the 1 ohm Scintilla. Is this an older Scintilla, or a recently refurbished one? That would make a difference which amp to use.
