Cerious Technologies NEW Graphene Cables
@lancelock " I'm very happy with all of the CT cables I've bought. If anyone isn't sure, and wants to do some more research before jumping on Bobs band wagon, all of my Morrow cables are up for sale. "Interesting.  I'm currently running Morrow ...
Help Choosing Speakers
"Am I ludicrous for looking at the Signature SEs for this room? Doug over @ Legacy said they would be a good fit for the room, since they are sealed they can be put fairly close to the rear well."Ron, maybe Doug mentioned it, but the Signature ...
Help Choosing Speakers
Ron, here is a pic of the Signatures in my room where I evaluated them.https://www.flickr.com/photos/67568395@N04/30740249456/in/album-72157676036420346/
Question about new Oppo 4K player
Yeah, that is a good question, as it does make me question the parts and build quality Oppo would be able to achieve for $500, especially on a player for a new format like 4K.  I have two Oppo universal disc players, and both have been great.  If ...
Help Choosing Speakers
Ron, I recently was able to do an in-home audition of a set of Legacy Audio Signature SE, paired with a Raven Audio Blackhawk Limted integrated tube amp(20 wpc).  My, oh my, what beautiful sound!  This audition was conducted by connecting my Oppo ...
Update on Dynaudio Contour 3.4 LE
Before spending $7K on the 3.4s, you might see if you can listen to a pair of Legacy Audio Signature SE.  I had a chance to have a two week in home audition with them, and from your list of music, they might be ideal, IMO.  I recently heard the Dy...
Clear Day vs Acoustic Zen
I'll give you a bump, as those are two of the cables I'm also considering but have never heard. I'm also considering the new(ish) Cerious Technologies Graphene Extreme, which is also in that general price range.
blu-ray coaxial outputs limited rez to dacs?
Unless you want to use the analog outputs, I think you have to use HDMI for full resolution DVD-Audio, and Blu-ray lossless codecs such as DTS-HD Master Audio and Dolby TrueHD.  You need a receiver or processor that has the appropriate decoders. T...
Does using a rca to XLR adapter compromise power and dynamics of power amp?
OK, yeah, my speakers are rated 4 ohms and around 92db sensitivity.  I'm thinking I'm in pretty good shape with my current situation.  I just didn't know if the rca to XLR adapters would in any way limit the amp's ability to produce bass transient...
Does using a rca to XLR adapter compromise power and dynamics of power amp?
Thanks very much, almarg.  Yes, the amp is Krell FPB 400cx, and the receiver is Denon AVR X5200.  I just looked at the X5200 specs and the only thing I could find that may be relevant is under the Analog section, where it reads:Rated output:      ...
NEED HELP WITH DAC UPGRADE
I recently heard a demo of a system with the Mytek Manhattan DAC playing 16/44.1 files, which was awesome sounding. But, since the system also used top tier amplification and Legacy Focus SE speakers, I have no way of knowing how much contribution...
Bi-wire speaker cable setup for Krell FPB 400cx
I guess I should clarify that, at this point, my top goal is the deepest, most impactful and articulate bass I can get.  I just feel like I am not getting the best out of my speakers. After some more reading here on Agon, it seems that many talk ab...
Bi-wire speaker cable setup for Krell FPB 400cx
Thanks.  I need about a nine foot run on each side. Well, if we go with your concept about not mixing wires, what is the benefit of bi-wiring?  Perhaps, rather than spending the money on bi-wires, I'd be better off by putting the money into a sing...
The most transparent speaker cable
I’m surprised there has been no discussion in this thread of bi-wiring. If the OP has speakers that can be bi-wired, then that opens up a lot of possibilities. If it is true that heavier gauge tends to lose transparency, then perhaps a different, ...
Honing down the speaker shortlist ~$5K
Might want to check out the Legacy Audio Classic HD.  The ribbon tweeter may offer the openness you are looking for. http://http//legacyaudio.com/products/view/classic-hd/
