Just decided to purchase the Audioquest gold ones.Audio Advisor website says they accept 1/4 inch spades.Cardas spades I have look like they are actually 5/16, but for some reason don't fit onto Omega Super 3R Cardas binding posts (also had to sna...
Monster X-terminators vs. Audioquest banana plugs? Can you confirm that those Cardas banana plug adapters accept 1/4 inch spades?I e-mailed Cardas earlier today, but haven't heard back from them yet.

Tube pre-amps $3500 under to add "warmth" Used Joule-Electra LA-100 mk. 3.Incredibly musical preamp, seemingly often way underpriced in the used market (two currently available at $1795 / $1750 and I've seen others lower than that in the past).

Bel Canto DAC2 vs. DAC1/1.1? Hi Jaguar:Have you compared the coaxial and optical outputs? (I would be using an RME Digi96/8 PAD sound card, which has both coaxial and optical outputs, though I think the optical one is supposed to be better, in terms of a greater signal to noi...
Good battery powered Toslink optical DAC needed Scott Nixon offers a toslink input as an approximately $30 option to his NOS dacs. There is no switch between coaxial and optical, so you have to be careful to have just one input active.
Best bit-rate for MusicMatch MP3? Hi Ed:Is it consensus that 192 kbps is, in general, the best sounding constant bit codec for MP3s? (I also use EAC for ripping CDs was WAVs. I am just looking for an MP3 format that sounds good on my computer speakers and other mid-fi equipment.)P...
Dark and laid back vs bright and forward I believe light and dark refer to overall tonal balance while forward and laid-back refer to refer to overall soundstage perspective (e. g. front row vs. middle of hall). I view brightness as a more severe form of a light tonal balance.
Stands make a huge difference with ProAc You can probably produce a fuller (and slightly warmer) tonal balance with either Cardas Golden Cross (Cardas Cross may also work) interconnects and / or speaker wire. Acoustic Zen Matrix Reference or Wow may also produce a similar effect. You can ...
Why are my burned opera CDRs distorting so badly? Found out it was the "Normalize" filter I was using on all of my audio compilations.

Isopropyl alcohol and CD crazing? Hi Rodagent:Interesting premise that too high a reflectivity will lead to excessive brightness; any weblinks where I can read more about this? I wonder if the same thing applies to various blank CDR media? Both the Optrix and isopropyl alcohol soun... |
