Zu Essence owners....your impressions please I much prefer my Definitions mk III to my prior Essence. Not even close. Better in every way for every type of music from vocals to jazz to rock and electronica. I would be curious to hear if Ton1313 has swapped the Defs into the tubed system to A...
Metrum Octave versus Eastern Electric DAC Hi Mingles. I'm in San Francisco. Shoot me a PM.
Anyone listen to Zu Audio's Definition Mk3? Hi CharlesDad, I honestly think Zu plays loud and crazy music at the shows for marketing reasons and to show that they are different from the typical audiophile speaker company. I live in an old Victorian and I listen at 65-75 dB max and the speak...
Zu Omen Defs vs Tekton Pendragons They can be found for much less than that.....just sayin' :)
Anyone listen to Zu Audio's Definition Mk3? I've noticed that slow break in with all Zu speakers....especially if they are played at low to moderate volumes?
Anyone listen to Zu Audio's Definition Mk3? Roscoe: No it's the black version..... And I've only played them for a few hours, so I don't have many impressions yet, other than they sound good so far:). To my eyes they do look smaller than the prior Shuguang Black Treasures that I had.....may...
Zu Omen Defs vs Tekton Pendragons Once you get to the Pendragon SE w/ Mundorf price tag, you are getting closeto the used Zu Definition mkII or used mkIII price tag.........and IMO the Zu Def is much better all around. Just another option to consider.....
Anyone listen to Zu Audio's Definition Mk3? I am comparing at present a pair of EML Mesh 300's to the Psvane 300 mkii. Both are sounding excellent in my current system. I would love to hear a pair of the Japanese Yakatsuki's! Maybe a Christmas gift to self :)?BTW any of you guys with the Fr...
Anyone listen to Zu Audio's Definition Mk3? Yes the Metrum is quite nice. I do have an AP-2 for the Metrum but I'm waiting for a replacement Metrum as the Coax went out on mine........But yes, loving the Franks and it would be great to compare our two systems.....211's vs 300's!
Zu Omen or Tekton Lore I just forced mine out. It came out easily and the bracing was quite strong.
Anyone listen to Zu Audio's Definition Mk3? Keith,I have found two excellent amps with my Def III's: Art Audio PX-25 and my recent acquisition the Coincident Frankensteins. I find the warmth of the Franks to be a perfect complement to the Nano FRD's. The Franks give up a little of the bass ...
Zu Omen or Tekton Lore You have to remove the lower woofer and the crossover is glued to the center brace. You have to pull it out and then you will have to cut the wires to pull it out. It would be very tight to work on it inside the cabinet. If you mod the crossover, ...
Best Pre/Amp or Integrated for Zu Essence A good start would be adding in a tube buffer. The buffer can be used in almost any system so even if you later upgrade the amp, the buffer will still be useful. The Dodd Buffer is the one generally paired with the Virtue amps, but there are others.
Speakers to consider around 5k used? Zd542 has good advice, however it is not easy to find ID speakers to demo, unless you can find a generous owner near you. I never demo'd any speaker that I bought except for the first pair that I bought new ( and overpaid for) and I did waste a lo...
Best Pre/Amp or Integrated for Zu Essence The last one on the list, the Virtue Audio with buffer is quite good. One shows up every week or two on the Audiocircle website. I heard one with my essence a few years back and it was great. The Decware Mini Torii was quite nice with the Omen Def... |
