Best Bang for the Buck Upgrade Ha. I am definitely not end game anything! Probably never will be. Always lookin.
Preamps with digital output What are you trying to accomplish? I’m wondering why you would want a DO from a preamp?
Best Bang for the Buck Upgrade I do have a 6 ft glass slider behind the seating position. Next step for sure is to get a nice thick sliding curtain for it. I duct taped a heavy blanket up there for a test and it for sure made a difference for the better.
Best Bang for the Buck Upgrade They do say Tad Laboratories on the back of them. Amps confuse me. Once they measure well it’s more of a different flavor and preference. For example I just sold a Micromega M100. Nice sounding amp but I far prefer the A1008 which was a 6 grand i...
Best Bang for the Buck Upgrade Yeah New DAC is being considered. Really interested in a Ladder Dac to see what all the fuss is about. I do like the Burson Composer at least as much as the RME I had.
Best Bang for the Buck Upgrade Yeah would be pretty pricey to add more JL subs! I think they are like 4K a piece for the F113 now. Don’t think I can get away with more subs with the wife. Maybe 1 more. 🤔 Thanks guys lots of stuff to consider.
Best Bang for the Buck Upgrade @oregon Yes room correction is on my radar. I can only do so much in this shared area without putting the foot down😀. I know there are some better looking stuff that can be done without a big argument. Big ole bass traps in the corners is probab...
Best Bang for the Buck Upgrade OP here. @soix , improvements sought are I guess more articulation of mid bass although I think a lot of that is my room. Cymbals sounding “better” although I think a lot of that is the recordings. @sgordon1 , yeah that looks like a cool li...
Can it get better? I’ve had mixed results with class D. On a more lush speaker like the Harbeth might be ok. I prefer AB or tubes to any class D I have heard barring the Lyngdorf integrated and that’s only because of the room correction and only with efficient speak...
Parasound JC1+ warm up time Leave it on all the time unless tubes. That’s my motto.
The new Rogue pharaoh II slams I’m surprised Rogue didn’t go Gan on their new integrated?? Never heard one but the talk is the new hotness.
CD transport vs.streaming I know most of the dudes here probably don’t listen to fast metal music. Try something like that streaming then try it again on a nice cd to dac. I think you might come to the same conclusion I have. Cd sounds better for sure. That’s why I want th...
Looking for a warm sounding amp or integrated with a torodial transformer @dafox the Sphinx had a smooth midrange but not very dynamic in my system and bass was not good. This was with some GE Triton 1s at the time. The bass was not even very good with the 1000w amp for the speakers. When I hooked the Odyssey up bass ...
The new Rogue pharaoh II slams I didn’t like the Sphinx much at all. Had a few other class d amps and the Lyngdorf was the only one that sounded good ONLY when the room correction was engaged. Otherwise it was just eyyy. It was perfection at times but only with high efficiency ...
Tiny Room (6' x 9') speaker advice Audiotroy, agreed small ATC would be a good fit for that small space. another option is look flr some higher end pro models made specifically for close near field listening. Not sure you could find something that fits the vintage requireme... |
