MUSIC SERVER - HOW DO YOU............ Since you already have the Dac my solution above is still your best bet. Also using an Empirical Off Ramp connected via Spdif to your Dac will outperform any USB Dac I have heard and I have heard many.
Replacements for Dynaudio Floorstanders I agree you are fighting an uphill battle trying to warm up a Krell. But you could try Avalon speakers. They have better tonality and a deeper soundstage than Dynaudio. The Ascendant is the model I'd look for but it will be a bit over your price p...
MUSIC SERVER - HOW DO YOU............ You still need a computer in the chain that will run the software you plan to use as a music player and access the drive w/ your music. PC or Mac will do. If it's PC download Media Monkey or J River. They will either see your music library or you ...
Pairing Yamamoto A-O8S amp with Supratek Cortese Hi Paul-Thanks for the perspective. I was wondering how low you can go but also always wondering what efficient speakers people are using. I have a large room, and I listen fairly loudly.
Bryston BDA-1 used V/S Wyred 4 Sound DAC 2 I'm just going to state up front this is all in my experience. Others may have different experiences and that's OK but these are mine.I/We compared the W4S Dac 2 and Bryston using toslink, spdif, and USB with a Mac and PC as source. The Bryston US...
Relate sensitivity/impedance to speaker efficiency You could try asking in this forum about specific speaker models as it is likely someone here has empirical knowledge of how they perform with different amps. However I have been surprised many times by how well some speakers sound when matched wi...
Pairing Yamamoto A-O8S amp with Supratek Cortese Wow 94db at 6. I'm surprised they are efficient enough. I'm learning specs don't always tell the whole story, and that all specs are not created equally. Thanks for sharing. I want to try a Yamamoto 45 and am wondering what people are using for sp...
Bryston BDA-1 used V/S Wyred 4 Sound DAC 2 I have heard both of these Dacs at length in my, and other's set ups. I preferred the Bryston by a large margin, and so did everyone else. I know the W4S is the hot Dac right now, and surely you're going to get a lot of feedback about how great it...
Pairing Yamamoto A-O8S amp with Supratek Cortese What are you guys running (and what have you tried) for speakers with the Yamamoto?
USB vs s/pdif I keep trying USB interfaces on DACs and I just haven't heard one I think is very good. I have heard the USB interface on a Wyred4Sound DAC2 and compared it to spdif and toslink. If I owned that DAC I wouldn't use the USB interface, just like I do...
Will a Wavelink or Offramp make a difference? Larevoj-Don't take this the wrong way but that forum doesn't really say anything or compare those two units. However in terms of functionality I will point out the latest Off Ramp will sample all the way to 24/192. Also it is a sophisticated re-clo...
Audio's Biggest Loser? I thought you were suggesting an idea for a new TV show.
Will a Wavelink or Offramp make a difference? IÂd say ÂYes indeedÂ. There should be an audible diff applying either into your system. Are you sure you want to spend that much for the conversion of USB to SPDIF though? Both are reputable for sure, and both are IMO, costly converters.Thought ...
Recommended tube compliment for Yamamoto A-08 Ampl Is it true you can also run 2A3's in this amp?
Will a Wavelink or Offramp make a difference? The Off ramp is to be used in conjunction with a DAC. It is a USB converter but also re-clock the signal. The improvements are significant and not subtle and highly recommended. |
