Am I broken? Am I stuck? Do I have to return my audiophile card now?
OP - great thread that you have started with lots of opinions.  If you are going to stay active in the hobby, which sounds like you are, go for the upgrade.  Far more likely you’ll regret an opportunity lost than one taken.    If you can turn off...
Lumin U2 vs Aurender N200
Comments on upgrading the DAC if you are going to drop the kind of coin on a steamer make sense.  The comments on upgrading the streamer now and then the DAC down the road represent a good path.  I’ve had the Node, Lumin D2 with S-Booster, Lumin P...
Coda FET 02b Balanced Pre vs Newer Preamps
Zlone - I got the same type of advice on the CB vs the 07, if I was really happy using the CSiB as a pre only and it was likely one generation behind in the pre section, I would be really happy with the CB, 07 potentially falling into the law of d...
Coda FET 02b Balanced Pre vs Newer Preamps
Hi Zlone - thanks for pointing me in the direction of the CB.  I called Coda, great guys, they walked through the 02b, CB and 07.     CB likely makes a lot of sense.  The 02b is per Coda at least 25 years old and some of the parts aren’t really a...
Coda FET 02b Balanced Pre vs Newer Preamps
Thanks Zlone, I’ll give the CB a look as well.  Enjoy the # 8 amp, it’s a great amp.  Good luck with your Preamp search.
New DAC! Meitner MA3, Denafrips Terminator Plus, Holo May KTE, Mola Mola Tambaqui
I’ve had the Lumin D2, Lumin P1, MHDT Pagoda Balanced, Krell Illusions ii used internal DAC, Node 2i and a couple other DAC’s I’m forgetting about along the way.  I have a PS Audio MK2 currently.  I’ve used Lumin and Auralic dedicated streamers.  ...
Too powerful of an amp!?
All great advice.  An important aspect of matching amps and speakers is synergy.  The watts alone won’t tell the full story on how they’ll pair together.  Another poster brought up Horse Power under the hood which is a good comparison, it’s not ju...
Coda 16 vs. Pass Labs xa60.8
Hi OP,  I haven’t had any pass gear but I did have a Coda Integrated CSiB.  I had the chance to compare it with a Primaluna Tube Amp and Krell XD amplification.    Based on the sound signature you are after, I would add Krell’s newer XD amps to y...
Integrated suggestions
+1 for either the Coda CSiB or the Krell 300i.  I have had both and both are outstanding integrated amps. Which you would prefer would be personal preference.  Also has the Primaluma Evo 400 integrated, really nice but not quite the same level as ...
Surge and Conditioning
The OP got an interesting thread / dialogue going on with his initial post, an often debated topic of power, how big an impact it has in performance and the best solutions. OP - your direction really depends on what you are looking to accomplish ...
Poll: Most impactful component
BigKidz - that is great insight built on years of your valuable experience.  I have been really fortunate to have the opportunity to have auditioned and owned some great gear and what what you have shared as your experience is very similar to mine...
Is it still worth buying a Lumin x1 in 2023?
I haven’t had the X1 in my system but have had the D2 and P1.  The P1 shares a lot of the same or similar parts / design as the X1.  The X1 has an external power supply and the latest generation Saber DAC.  The P1 is outstanding, I would jump on t...
Looking for advice, recommendations
Make sure the integrated you have can be used as an amp only.  I don’t recall my Evo having the functionality to bypass the preamp section specifically.  It did have HT Bypass so in theory you could use that functionality to use the amp only.
Looking for advice, recommendations
Hi OP, Over the last 4 years or so I have been on a 2 channel journey that has seen quite a few upgrades, tweaks.  On that journey I have had the Primaluna EVO 400 integrated, the Coda CSIB integrated, Krell’s latest Integrated along with Parasou...
Omega speakers -- mostly sold out, all the time?
Hi OP, Louis is fantastic and the bill quality is superb.  He used to be a cabinet maker and had a passion for HiFi - combined the 2 into building speakers. His website and marketing aren’t his strong suites.  His products are a tremendous value...
