@ghdprentice no, unfortunately it was not just the unit… it was sort of a known thing…to the point that (for lack of better term) a cottage industry developed for CJ owners looking for more rugged 6922s to avoid this issue. FWIW, Kevin D. Crusaded...

Thanks guys…that’s kinda what I was thinking…..may need to go to one of the non-supertube (or earlier supertube ) models to get what I’m looking for. I know that the ref3 and the ref2 mk2 have it…but maybe best of both worlds…   I really appreci...

Preamp for VPI Prime 21 turntable $300-800
In this price range…I’d watch out for a Vincent pho700/701…used…they are giant killers in my experience, for my tastes.

Who says studio monitors are "cold and analytical"?
@fair Nicely written.    Gonna have to read more of your stuff!
Ported speakers and class D amps
What amp are these class d amps going up against? It probably doesn’t matter your ps300 is awesome…maybe just accept that? Mine replaced a Musical reference tube amp!
Getting back into venal with a $2,000 budget.
Although I deeply appreciate the 1500 …I suspect the Japanese would not have left that flimsy tonearm LIFT design leave THEIR factories for fear of shame. Kidding….(sorta )

@stereo5 I’ve returned a Malaysian 1200GR and a 1500C with wobbly platters which I (admittedly anecdotally) attribute to production move cost savings measures. They are actually now trying to justify visible platter wobble as being in spec. That w...

If you go for the 1500…and it is delivered with auto lift location issue…do not panic…it may just need adjustment…unfortunately even from the factory…just google the process and try to adjust before returning. I’ve read a lot about this and suspec...

@rar1 nicely written…and I so agree…especially about the cart…For me…those Ortofons (especially the Red… do not do this table justice) FWIW…my words are from personal experience. Had the 1500 in my system..with some nice carts/pre. IN short, I t...
