user poll on seperates vs integrated
Absolutely love the idea of integrateds but even the more expensive ones seem to have been handily outperformed by even modest separates (in my system ). I wish it were not so. Some of the integrateds that people rave about are beyond my reach fin...
What kind of strange “ads” are YOU getting on these pages?
By the way…of course, I mean external partner ads, probably Google)…not that agon is responsible… It’s Mostly the header and footer ads that are strange. Be interesting to know how our majority “demographic “ is targeted.

Some of you sound lovelorn (yikes).  Let it go, he’s gone and we’re better for it.
Which MM, MI, or Hi output...Nagaoka 300/500, Clearaudio Maestro, Soundsmith Carmen
Nagaoka is a great cart…it makes records sound like records, Many of these carts nowadays are too thin and sterile to my ears. Like @mr_m Ive found found Clear audio MM to sound bright, thin. FWIW, I’m unimpressed with their lower tables too beca...
Phono pre amp suggestion
The Vincent Pho 700 or 701 is an awesome piece…In my opinion, you have to spend much more to beat it.
What record cleaner is the most bang for the buck??
Not sure how everyone’s records are getting so dirty. I live in the desert and (as I said before) as long as I use a Big Brush, the dustcover and put records back in their sleeves when not in use that’s all that’s really needed. My records continu...
What record cleaner is the most bang for the buck??
I would never own a turntable without a (convenient to operate (I.e hinged)) dustcover partly for this reason!   I know that’s a dealbreaker for some (we must choose our battles).
What record cleaner is the most bang for the buck??
In my opinion, people make wayyyyy too much of record cleaning.   As long as you have a Dustcover and put your albums in their sleeves, a clamp cleaner (especially effective on those from the used bins), careful handling, and a Big Brush are all...
What record cleaner is the most bang for the buck??
https://groovmaster.com/   this one. Clean them in the sink. And no, I’m not kidding.   I have a “system” consisting of microfiber cloths, distilled water, Dawn, and a cheap dish drying rack FWIW.
Really...My favorite power tube is reissue that's not widely popular
Op, Agreed. I ran some current production “Tung Sol” el34s and for my tastes nothing else came close. I was initially turned off at the exploitation of the name but the tubes/their quality do the name some justice.   re. 6922s Although there may...

Which ARC ref linestage to try: Ref3, Ref5, Ref5SE? HATE forward sounding systems
@bobbydd FWIW I knew exactly what you meant.  Definitely appreciate your thoughts.
Which ARC ref linestage to try: Ref3, Ref5, Ref5SE? HATE forward sounding systems
I want to thank everyone. This was a very productive thread for me (and others, I hope) even though… …since I have so much PS Audio Equipment, It probably makes sense that I should try the PSA BHK before I go down the ARC road. However, with this...
Which ARC ref linestage to try: Ref3, Ref5, Ref5SE? HATE forward sounding systems
@jafant you have me thinking… I heard about the huge soundstage, which I love…but, how does it treat poorly recorded music in your experience? Is the soundstage at all forwardish? Does it truly have to be run balanced to sing?     (Everyone: for...
Which ARC ref linestage to try: Ref3, Ref5, Ref5SE? HATE forward sounding systems
@jafant good observation… I probably will end up trying one of those as I’m a HUGE ps audio fan. I have the stellar phono and their DAC, which I love. Yeah…that’s probably the most logical. I’ve read that it’s no slouch. Just possibly wanted to gi...
