X250 Isolation? Hi Sean,I used three pucks that use a ball bearing type design made by Orchard Bay a company in Washingington that machines cones and things. I got them from Stewart at " A Sanctuary Of Sound". He is an Audiogon dealer. They are pretty heavy duty ...
X250 Isolation? Having been experimenting a bit I have come to realise that my system does sound quite alot better with the isolation puck devices under my X250. I don't know why as the amp is heavy on it's own but with the isolation devices under it the music is...
Hales owners discussion The problem with selling Hales speakers is that because Hale's is out of business they have lost their value significantly. It would be hard to replace the Hales with the funds recieved from them by selling to get a speaker near as good. That is wh...
Pass X1 preamp question The difference I may be hearing with the display off may warrant it being dimmed off if doing some extremely careful critical listening. I still say there is a difference psychoachioustical or not. I notice a slight touch of noise dissappear like ...
Will I notice improvement with crossover mods? I should add that the Millenium dropped in nicely without having to change my modified crossovers. I didn't even need to remove the 0.33 ohm resistance in the tweeter section. It was as easy as installing a tweeter that fit in nicely.
Will I notice improvement with crossover mods? 1000 hours play on my Hales with the crossover mods with about 300 hours on the Millenium tweeters I installed and the speakers are sounding very very good. I'm blown away actually. I never thought the results would be as positive as they are. The...
Hales tweeter? 300 hours play and my speakers arte singing. I really enjoy this new sound. It's an improvement top to bottom. The speaker has a whole new characteristic sound which I am enjoying.I am enlightened on just how much a tweeter can change the sound of...
Hales owners discussion Dawgbyte, It would be easier to sell a pair of Hales stock than it would with all kinds of modifications as people know what they are getting when they buy stock items as opposed to a speaker that has been modified. Although I put alot of money in...
Hales owners discussion Replacing the stock tweeters with the Seas Millenium tweeter gives the speaker a whole new sound. I always liked my T5's but now they are a different speaker. It's a good thing that I like the sound as I think they would be almost impossible to se...
Pass X1 preamp question Steno, How do you find the Pass preamps compare with the Chapter. I see you use or used one in your system. Personally I think the X1 sounds quite good but I'm curious about the Chapter for curiousities sake.
Pass X1 preamp question Apparently it's psychoachoustical and being very suggestive by nature there appears to be a difference but there is none in reality other than what I think I hear. I love the preamp.
Pass X1 preamp question I hear a slight edge off the top removed with the dimmer down. I know the digital circuitry is seperate from the analogue and the difference I hear is very subtle yet it is there. Not enough to have me dimming down the display all the time however...
Pass X1 preamp question It's as if some rf is removed making the sound cleaner but it's subtle.Any body else notice this?
Hales T5's Vifa's $ ohm or 6 ohm? Dawgbyte, The Vifa tended toards a little harsh or brilliant sounding and the Seas is more mellow and airy without loss of detail. It's quite obvious the Millenium are far superior. My speakers are more sophisticated sounding.I'm happy and excited....
Hales T5's Vifa's $ ohm or 6 ohm? I took the plunge an installed the Seas Millenium about 20 hours ago. It is a nice improvement as far as I can hear. I don't know how it would read on a test but it sounds awesome. I'm excited and am not putting back the origional tweeters. These ... |
