Western Electric Cloth copper 3M 16GA Wire for IC's
Hey mikirob and grannyring, have you guys heard whether there is truth to the rumors of an upcoming 12ga Duelund tinned copper wire?  If so, I  would like to try some as speaker cable when it is available.I agree with the potential of the 20ga Due...
Western Electric Cloth copper 3M 16GA Wire for IC's
Good advice from Alan.I meant to add to my post that I currently use the WE 10ga wire for speaker cable (bi-wired with two twisted pair to each speaker) and for power cables (a twisted, cross-connected quad, i.e., 4ea of the 10ga wire for 7ga aggr...
Western Electric Cloth copper 3M 16GA Wire for IC's
When the "real sound" WE 16ga wire craze began, the associated ICs being touted were made from Belden 8402 wire, which is also constructed using tinned copper conductors.  You can read about if if you do a google search.Speaker cables and power co...
Synergistic Red Fuse ...
I get suspicious and a little anxious when people start trying to separate the "real audiophiles" from the "not-real (fake?) audiophiles." What if I don’t make the cut? Will I need a new uniform? Will I be forced to start listening to my music on ...
Synergistic Red Fuse ...
This may be off topic, but I was just thinking about how hard it must be for the people who manufacture and sell actual snake oil.Maybe they need a hug....or a gofundme page?
Duelund DCA16GA
geoch, the Belden 1800F does indeed look like a good cable. The "Foam High Density Polyethylene" is one of my preferred dielectrics and IMO better sounding than Teflon, which I sometimes hear as a shrill artifact. Also the thicker foamed material ...
Cerious Technologies NEW Graphene Cables
Built it and they will come. Once they've got a foothold in your house they can be quite difficult to get rid of. Maybe somebody will design a Teleportation Tweak to solve the problem  :-)

Synergistic Red Fuse ...
I would think if there was any danger of the fuses damaging the equipment neither Steve Deckert of Decware nor Paul McGowan of PS Audio would recommend them in their products. This reminded me of a conversation I had with the folks over at Ayre sev...

In other words, average equipment will produce average sound, no matter how "great" the cables may be... and... "great" equipment will produce "great" sound from most reasonably designed cables made from quality materials that don’t cost very mu...
Recommendations for spade lugs for 14 ga conductor?
Some like minimalist spades.  Below are a couple of links to the Vampire SPD spade, which is solid copper with gold plating.   Made for 10-12 awg but should be fine to crimp your 14awg Canare.BTW, not sure if you are thinking of internal bi-wiring...
Who thinks $5K speaker cable really better than generic 14AWG cable?
You need to look deeper, grasshopper. Look inside. Why look inside....does the hook-up wire inside of the $99K amp need to be changed too?
Who thinks $5K speaker cable really better than generic 14AWG cable?
Good or bad, like or dislike, with respect to cable choices are individual decisions. Therefore, the attempt to convince others that one philosophy is right or wrong is pointless. The discussions of different experiences and sharing of opinions, art...
