Fleetwood Mac Rumours reissue Is it being released on vinyl?
Totem Arro or Vandersteen 1C or Quad 12L. Personally, I like Totem's sound. The Arro's won't match the bass of the Vandie's, but what they lack in low end they make up for with imaging. The Arro tends to disappear in a room. I haven't heard the Quad. I recommend you listen to all of them
alon model 5 mk 2 Carl often uses Bill to do this work. Contact Bill directly and see if he will do it for less.
alon model 5 mk 2 Contact Carl if you want to buy new woofers. Contact Bill LeGall if you want to rebuild them. Bill is a master at what he does and will make them better than new. Bill often works for Carl.

Tonearm Wire I've had excellent results with Cardas 4x33 which is four twisted 33 gauge wires shielded and encased in a rubber jacket.
alon model 5 mk 2 04-08-08: Mitch2I tried for years to get the V MkII's to sing with a variety of components. It just wouldn't happen for me, even when using a tubed preamp.I know they can sound nice with SS, but I really believe Alon's are best matched with tube a...
alon model 5 mk 2 Norman, I don't have any experience with the Stratos or Sim. I'm sure they're both very good amps, but I encourage you to audition a pure Class A amp if you stay with solid state. -Mark
alon model 5 mk 2 I'm driving a pair of Model V's with Antique Sound Lab AQ-1008. There's a warmth and spaciousness with this combo that I haven't heard with SS. I heard a pair of Alon Circe's powered by a VAC PA100/100 not long ago. It was the most spectacular sys...
WBT 147 versus 108 I could be wrong, but unless you have golden ears, I doubt you'll hear any difference between the 108 and 147. The 108 is a much more robust connector. I used them in a DIY phono cable and very much enjoy them. Their construction is top notch. I d...
Review: Antique Sound Labs Hurricane Tube amp Thanks for the nice review. These amps have been on my radar for a while. 1. I replaced the ASL supplied 6SN7 tubes with NOS Sylvania's from Andy's Vintage Tube Service. The change in tubes was noticed immediately and continues to improve with use...
Herron VTPH-2 with Bent Audio NOH Passive TVC I don't have any experience with the Herron VTPH-2 so I can't comment on its noise level, but I have a Bent TVC. My phono stage has the same output impedance as your Herron (500 ohms). I haven't had any problems. Actually, quite the opposite. It s...
Anticables Review It seems to me that there is no magic here. They sound how they sound from the first moment you install them.Maybe you're right. I don't know. I haven't heard them. But I'd give them more than a few days to cast judgment. I wouldn't give them 400 ...
Denon 103r ???? Pedrillo, a K&K is definitely in my future, but the tax man will delay its arrival for a few months ;~} What are you loading your 103R at? Have you tried 14 ohms?
Anticables Review I can only hope that others in this forum are correct in saying that AntiCables need 400 hours to break in. Right now, they sound thin, tinny, and very lacking in bass and overall stage depth.I wouldn't dismiss them so quick. Give them time to bre... |
