Focal No.2 Speaker System: A New Age Dawns
dave_b,Congratulation on your new acquisition. Have fun listening to your music. And maybe time to update your system pics. I jumped in to look at your system, but did not find the Focals. I have heard the Electra series and really liked them.
Proac D48R
A couple of folks reached out to me and indicated that an active preamp will take my system performance to a much higher level, now that I have the ProAcs. In my system I have adequate bass and sound to the point that I have ordered 2 more tri-tra...
Reference disc player...UDP 205 or Marantz?
Certain classical labels offer SACD’s with their Hi-Rez stereo layer in PCM, BIS Records is one such label. I have not heard of such SACDs. So will look for others to contribute and help you out.
PSB Imagine T3's?
Thanks @studiotim.I had listened to the T3s in the Baltimore area as well. That was with the NAD system and t sounded pretty good. Unfortunately they were trying to push the Totem Forest Signatures, which also sounded good, but I was not interested.

I believe that the speakers are properly "run in". I don't understand why people say ProAcs are musical and not for people who want "pin point imaging". These speakers certainly image awesome in my setup. They are super musical without being a bit...

@studiotim,Was your demo in the Chicago area? Just curious, since I had that a demo in that area. I will not go into the dealership details. But they were thorough gentlemen and entertained all my song requests.
Which Patricia Barber album floats yer boat?
I like many of her songs/albums. I categorize her type of music as "dark jazz". It is enjoyable in the right mood. The recording quality is an added bonus.
Reference disc player...UDP 205 or Marantz?
@vahes,What are PCM SACDs? I think you are confusing with either of the following:1. SACD has a CD layerOR2. Original recording was in PCM that was converted to DSD for SACD.In either case the player will ALWAYS play the SACD layer, when a SACD is...
Flooring advice on basement listening room.
I had a portion of the basement converted into a dedicated audio room. 2 3/4 sides have concrete walls, but the remaining 1 1/4 side, I installed double dry wall on both sides with Green Glue between them. I have carpet over concrete and it has wo...
RMAF vs AXPANO
@jolly...2, Read these threads:https://forum.audiogon.com/discussions/axpona-2017-protocolhttps://forum.audiogon.com/discussions/axpona-anyone?highlight=AXPONAGo with an open mind and enjoy the show.
PSB Imagine T3's?
@easola01,You got some nice equipment there. The T3s will really sing in that system. They are pretty sensitive. So I don't think they require too much power to show their true nature. You amp has enough power to drive them.
Need passive aggressive advice
I suggest that you try a TVC which is also considered passive. It will be a really good fit in your highly sensitive system.

@easola1,What amp will you be using to drive the PSBs?
You cable haters please DO this.
OP,You should post this on avsforums.com and wait for the fun.
