Need a preamp? @jaferd,I have the Parasound A21 with my Backert Labs tube preamp.
Spendor D7, D9 but no love Classic 100? @three,Congratulations on the new D7s. Excellent speakers. Don't be in a hast to "break them in". Just enjoy them as-is and the music as well. Take efforts to place them correctly in the room and you will be superbly rewarded.
Need a preamp? @ jaferd,I used to own a passive preamp (Promitheus Reference C-Core TVC) driving my ProAc D48R and the sound was very transparent. But I changed that to a tubed Backert Labs Rhumba 1.3 and I am rediscovering my music again. Those ProAcs of yours ...
Experience with Inakustik 3500P Power Conditioner?? Thanks again @bacardi
Home demo. ProAc D48R and Spendor D9 Would the big bass of the bigger speakers also muddy the midrange at moderate to low volume levels? In a small room there is a potential that bass would muddy the midrange at moderate volume. The thing is, the ProAc D48R is very easy to drive. I ...
Home demo. ProAc D48R and Spendor D9 Understood. Unfortunately, the space I have is not very large - about 23 square meters with a height of about 2.3 meters. I can get about 0.5-0.6 meters between the back of the speakers and the (long) wall behind them with the speakers spaced ...
Home demo. ProAc D48R and Spendor D9 @donquichotte,You will get biased opinion on this question because between the ProAc and Spendor owners we have purchased the loudspeakers that "we" thought, sounded the most natural to us. I have heard the ProAc D30, Spendor D7 and own the ProAc ...
Experience with Inakustik 3500P Power Conditioner?? Inakustik AC-3500p users - do you keep the power conditioner "on" the entire time OR do you switch it off/stand by after the listening session?
Preamp Upgrade I replaced a dual mono TVC in my system for better Dynamics and drive. But never expected the new preamp to beat the TVC for transparency. I highly recommend the Backert Labs Rhumba 1.3 for you. You will have to add the phono separately though.
Spendor D9 vs. PSB T3 speakers. @avanti1960 ,Yes, that D7 can produce amazing bass. Very impressive. Congratulations on the Spendors. What finish did you get? Not that it matters, but the pair I demoed was in "ebony" and it looked splendid :-)
Spendor D9 vs. PSB T3 speakers. @jbhiller ,Search for "Kyomi Audio Chicago". I heard the Spendor D7 there. Owner George Vatchnadze was very nice and gracious even when I visited him twice to make a decision. BTW, between the Spendor and PSB, my vote goes to the Spendor because...
Opinions on Parasound A21 & A21+ @markainsworth,Search for "Club Halo Parasound" on Google and the first link will be a Parasound forum. Tons of the folks there are using the Halo amplifiers to power their Maggies. You would get tons of information on the EXACT combination of you...
PSB T3 I have not heard better bass from a floor standing/tower, have you? Under $7.5K @mets1p,I agree, I like the ProAc sound over the PSBs.While I feel that the ProAcs are very musical, the PSBs can be musical too, if paired with the right equipment. Hence I was asking OP to do due diligence in choosing ancillaries, if he decides ...
Axpona reviewers perceptions and reality @bubba12,Atohm's bookshelf speaker, GT1, is so small and yet sounds like a floor stander. I was amazed at AXPONA 2017. That brand remains a sleeper in the US.
PSB T3 I have not heard better bass from a floor standing/tower, have you? Under $7.5K You are welcome @charan.If you prefer to keep your speaker in the corner, then these are not for you, honestly. I have listened to these speakers a number of times. You can also read Stereophile review and they mention the same.Check out some Audi... |
