Audio racks that can handle heavy components
I am looking to purchase a reasonably priced audio rack that can handle heavy components. @referee1 , you do not mention what your "reasonable price" is, nor do you specify the weight. In any case, I have my 60lb Parasound A21 in a Salamander Aud...
Class D is just Dandy!
@erik_squires , Thanks for sharing your experience. The A21 is a killer amp and punches above it's price point. I believe I will have to put in significantly more money to upgrade this to another Class AB or D. Making speakers is how I enjoy my...
Class D is just Dandy!
@erik_squires , Which Parasound? How did the sound change from Parasound to Class D. I am wondering why you went back to class AB. And now looking to change to active speakers. I am very curious about NAD M23 since it is not a beast and seems wel...
PSVANE 12Au7 12At7 12Ax7 "-T MKII" 2020 production run of small signal/driver tubes
@johnss , I agree with the same concern. But since they have a warranty of 1 year, I will see how long these Horizons last and if they will honor the warranty. At $49 a pair, I think @decooney might as well try them. It you want to get the ART se...
ASIO, WHAT NOW?
@joes44 , I had been an avid Foobar2000 (F2k) user and like that software. F2k can play mp4. You might need a codec for that or maybe F2k can do it natively - I have never done that. But do you know that you can directly play Youtube playlists u...
«Today’s Lyrics Are Pathetically Bad» Rick Beato
+1 @stuartk  The song that he plays at the start - not a genre I listen to. But I think not all music made today have such lyrics. Some are really good songs. The problem with today's music (any genre or language or culture, etc), is that it does...
PSVANE 12Au7 12At7 12Ax7 "-T MKII" 2020 production run of small signal/driver tubes
Found the more recent thread where a member @alightronics is representing communications for PSVane That is the one I had linked in my response earlier today.
PSVANE 12Au7 12At7 12Ax7 "-T MKII" 2020 production run of small signal/driver tubes
@decooney , I see that you revived the thread after almost 3 years. Things changed between then and now. I did try a pair of NOS Mazda 12AU7 and loved them for their naturalness and definition in general. I had purchased warranty of 2 years on th...
Signalyst HQPlayer - Is it worth the upgrade?
@mgrif104 , One thing I will mention is that "not all the bits are the same". So when I got the T+A new, I used Foobar to send DSD 512 and DSD 1024 to the DAC and noticed a difference over the previous DAC. But it was not a "game changing" experi...
HiFi Rose RD160 DAC
Thank You @jon2020  I will not be using the DAC as a preamp.
Signalyst HQPlayer - Is it worth the upgrade?
@mgrif104  That is a fascinating upgrade to look forward to - completely different league. Before you sell the DAC 200, I hope you get a chance to experience DSD 512 on this DAC. In my experience the DAC 200 without DSD 512 is like Clark Kent. An...
HQ Player for Dummies
Correct on both questions @boulder_bob . My PC build is linked here. Currently I do 512 DSD and it works fine even with the ASDDM7EC-super 512+fs shaper.
HQ Player for Dummies
You are welcome @boulder_bob I looked up opticalRendu and see this in the description - "Mode #4 - HQ Player NAA Output". So, you seem to be better equipped for streaming than I am so you go from your PC to your DAC with a USB cable? any jitte...
HQ Player for Dummies
@boulder_bob , no question is stupid. I am learning more on HQ Player and simply thilled at my experience. I will try to answer your questions, based on what I have learned till date: HQ Player is to be used on a computer, correct? Yes If I ...
Signalyst HQPlayer - Is it worth the upgrade?
@mgrif104 , That DAC you own is a level above the DAC 200 and HQ Player can only take it higher, per my experience. I am new to this whole HQ Player setup and not using the NAA feature. Have you tried the AudiophileStyle forum? I would like to kn...
