Real world life expectancy of a high end cartridge?
My point would be, how much can it really matter? Pressure on the stylus contact patch is on the order of a ton per square inch. Pressure like that, whatever dirt is on there, ain't gonna be on there for long. Add to that, no record ever is perfec...
MartinLogan Subwoofers- Don't Overlook Them!
What I find well and truly amazing is the way four or five subs spaced out asymmetrically around the room are able to recreate bass that is just as solidly and accurately placed within the sound stage as anything else. As much fun as it probably i...
Reasonable high end interconnects: without breaking the bank
I am in the process of updating my audio equipment and have realized my interconnects are probably not up to snuff; I use the ones provided by the manufacturers.   Patch cords! Good Gawd man! You may be having sticker shock now, but just wait. ...
Seeking advice on setting up outdoor event sound system
I only need a system for an announcer and other speakers. The performers will be using their own portable systems.   You answered your own question then.

Freon boils at minus 41 degrees Fahrenheit. Freon at normal room temp is a gas. But that's probably just the cheap freon everyone else uses. Obviously, Stylast uses the really good room temperature liquid freon.
Origin live Cartridge Enabler - a review
I've considered this, based only on the assumption that since Origin Live makes a great arm they must know what they're doing. But the combination of the work involved along with changing VTA so much, it would have to offer really significant impr...
High end Cables not important for certain electronics?
I am curious as to what aspect of the design leads to this type of statement. Not design. Marketing.
Musicians in your living room vs. you in the recording hall?
Tried it both ways. Greatly prefer being transported to the recording venue. The problem with having the musicians there in your room is the mess they always leave behind.
MartinLogan Subwoofers- Don't Overlook Them!
Yes because with subs its not which one, its how many. What you are getting is more the result of adding another sub than anything to do with the particulars of the one you added. Add two more and you will see.
Wiring Multiple Subwoofer Drivers
ptheo, Actually if you read my post it says Which corresponds with what Duke told me, that pretty much all his customers prefer that as well. Duke being Duke LeJeune, of Audiokinesis, maker of the Swarm Subwoofer System. What I wrote is actually...
Herron VTPH-2A final thoughts.
Yeah. But when it comes to Keith I think awesome is normal.
Taking Power Conditioning to the Max?
Some people doubt this even matters. One guy at work thought I was nuts. So I had him and his wife over, and put on her favorite CD. After playing one track I said excuse me, went out to the garage and flipped off the breakers leaving only the lis...
Herron VTPH-2A final thoughts.
Keith's stuff tends to sound good right out of the box. From there it only gets better. A lot. And fast. I gave mine hardly any warm-up at all and as a result was rewarded with hearing it improve so fast it sounded different at the end of one song...
Car Audio Upgrade
Used to do this back when I was a lot younger. Driving a 911 though puts things a lot more clearly. You can't really be driving while thinking of other things and without being able to hear the car. You can try and tell yourself this, just like yo...
Theoretical question about how CD's work
Responding to nonsense from kost_amojan, geoffkait writes: Nurse! Thorazine! Man down! Costco hasn’t been paying attention. In the case of CDs the 1s and 0s are represented by transitions not by the ON or OFF. As I already explained it’s more comp...
