Synergistic Research Atmosphere UEFs level 1 vs SR Atmosphere X's level 1 Haven't compared them to each other, but Atmosphere level 3 are superb, with excellent bass, transparency without edge or glare, and a really nice big deep 3D sound stage.
The Big Misconception About Electricity There definitely are magnetic fields around the current in a wire. This is why it is called electro-magnetism. The two go together. Whenever a magnetic field crosses a wire it induces a current in that wire. This is how electricity is generated in...
Long distance move - Trust moving company unpack Slip em a fin, relax, they're professional, it'll be fine.
Nobsound springs - load range Granted, not as great a waste of time as reading people arguing about it not being a waste of time without giving so much as a single reason why such calculations are useful. But still a waste of time. Because it takes far less time to try and se...
How do you know when a stereo sounds good? It seems the core of arguments here and on all other audio groups revolve around what it is that constitutes good sound with people on one side who all but claim subjective observations of sound quality are meaningless. That people who believe st...
Bought the wrong subwoofer! I think bass is one of the last things audiophiles understand That's for sure. Virtually all of them are still stuck in the understanding exemplified in this thread. OP went from one sub to another, swapping when he should have been adding. L...
Strangest Phono Sound I Ever Heard Don't forget, I had the Basis. Silk thread was an improvement. How many different things did you try to come to that conclusion? And, you said difficult. Not impossible. So you must have tried something better. What was it?
Beat This Track!!!! (For Soundstage effect) When I play Holst, The Planets, Venus is 300,000,000 miles off to the left.
The response for REL regarding subwoofers Sensitivity is irrelevant. Volume level is what you need to match with subs, period. Clearly REL is capable of high volume levels. Cornerhorns achieve high volume with less power, but you listen to volume not power. Think about it.
Strangest Phono Sound I Ever Heard Sounds like you narrowed it down to the phono stage. While you are working on that, if your 2001 is the one I think it is, the silicone damping fluid in the pods can evaporate over time. This happens so slowly it is hard to notice. Check and see. ...
Nobsound springs - load range Tweak1 has nailed it. All the calculations are a waste of time. Even the bit about being compressed half way is just a guide or starting point. Another guide or starting point, the component should bounce very slowly, around 1 to 3 Hz. Just a guid...
How do you know when a stereo sounds good? In the beginning (1970's) I listened for tone. I was playing in band- not "a band", High School band, trumpets, French horn, flute, etc- and was listening for that sound. Later on, 90's, I was reading and had the usual audiophile checklist of so...
The Big Misconception About Electricity Yeah, that's a good one. Watched it yesterday. Thought about posting. But then remembered. Nothing, but nothing, gets screwed up here more than electricity. Especially when it is true. Current flows in fields, which is why so many things like...
Beat This Track!!!! (For Soundstage effect) I know. They're not paying me enough for this level content.
Listening to music I don’t particularly like I know. Quality content this high, they're not paying me anywhere near enough. Thanks! |
