What speaker – under $10k – has the best timbre and tonal qualities?
Under $10k? Tekton Ulfberht, obviously. Unless you want 90% of the Ulf for half the money, in that case Moab is the way to go. In any case you will find like Duke is saying there are factors other than the speaker itself. Tekton have superb timbre...
Second system recommendations $5K budget
This is your third system? And still you're asking for help? Here??! Good God, man! And you said the bedroom is 12x12? Clearly you need GIK professional consulting. Are there windows? Where? Can they be moved? Treated? Surely you can see where thi...
Two Preamps Into 3 Channel Amp
Two answers: electrically yes, its okay. Worst that may happen is you pick up some ground loop hum. Which might be bad or might be zero but in any case won’t break anything. But sonically no, its never okay to have a AVR connected to a stereo. The...
Artists you only know through their greatest hits
I don't understand the... wait a minute! Are you talking compilations? Greatest Hits compilations?! You are actually trying to get someone here to admit to buying a greatest hits compilation? I mean yeah, sure, everyone has some. But I would never...
Ar ethe current LP's available for $25 or so as goos as the old ones.
Truth is the only way to know is to buy one and listen to it. There are plenty of original run vintage records that will never be bettered. The vast majority of expensive reissues are new and quiet- and sound nowhere near as good as a really good ...
100 W Tube Amplifier Malfunctioned
Transformers don't go like that unless they're defective. Not your fault. Not your responsibility. Theirs.
Listening to full LPs vs virtually endless digital tracks.
Hooked me in with "Listening to full LPs" only to slam the door with "virtually endless digital" which would be the exact definition of hell were it not for, "virtually". At least with "virtually" one can always hope for an end to it at some point...
Why are digital streaming equipment manufacturers refusing to answer me?
Why is the troll refusing to answer us? Crawled back into his cave I suspect.
are 4000$ /pr speakers today better than $4000/pr speakers from mid to late 1990's?
The roughly $4k Moabs I just bought are way better than the $16k speakers from the 90's they replaced. Not even close.Bear in mind the Tekton MTM speakers are exceptional value. But I would be shocked if even average $4k speakers today aren't much...
C-Lock answer to a problem
Cable Elevators are really ceramic insulators designed for telephone poles. The little rubber pad on the bottom covers the threaded hole where they would normally be fastened to the pole. The pad pulls right off making it easy to stick a dowel or ...
Why are digital streaming equipment manufacturers refusing to answer me?
Congratulations Douglas_schroeder on having the courage to go on record with the facts to back up what we all (who can hear) have known for years. Consequently, after conducting my own exploration, I am content to spend less time thinking about AB...
Acoustic Revive RR-77, 777, 888 Schumann Generator
Thanks roxy54, that looks to be the same board as the rest and almost identical to the Nobsound unit with the acrylic covers. I just bought 2 of the cheap ones mahgister recommended for $10 (make offer, heh!) Real curious to see how they work.
Audio Bastion Racks
They certainly are expensive. Unfortunately they are based on pointy spikes, which are demonstrably less effective than springs.
Is it better to have two matched subs or one
There's a lot of unfounded info around subs, and this idea of summing bass losing info is one of them. At the 80Hz and below frequencies used for subs all bass is mono. Don't take my word for it. Hook em up yourself and listen. It simply does not ...
Why are digital streaming equipment manufacturers refusing to answer me?
Its incorrect because its wrong. Your whole premise is false. Its not anyone's responsibility to explain to you why they hear something. Maybe its nothing more than they have learned to hear something you have not. Did you ever think of that? Not ...
