Need advice for a replacement phono cartridge
@michobr59 , Koetsus are very stiff. It is not a good idea to put a stiff cartridge in a unipivot arm. You should lean towards more compliant designs or get rid of the arm.

@ghdprentice , you have to be kidding me. Do you know what the Japanese listen to for music? Just throw a handful of spoons into the air. They have no idea what good sounding is. Make great cameras though.

@ghdprentice are you kidding me? A Koestsu? A Rosewood Signature? You couldn't possibly like that cartridge. It sounds like lacey swiss cheese😁
The greatest tweak ever?
@barts , That is what it is all about my friend, fun!
Need advice for a replacement phono cartridge
For the Little Loco you want as low an impedance cartridge as you can get. My Sonic Lab, Lyra and Ortofon make cartridges that will work well with your phono stage. I think the Ortofon Windfeld Ti would be an excellent choice. If you have a VPI u...

@ghdprentice , come on. You are too smart to be on this thread.
New Rega P10 setup
@marktheshark , Good move. You might have to add a little weight to the tonearm for the Soundsmith. Soundsmith makes a very nice set of graded cartridge screws for this purpose. Get the HiFi News Test LP and the resonance tracks will tell you what...
Shouldn't This Sound Boomy?
@bobpyle, not all Bob. I referenced baclagg's frequency response curve. I know what my preferences are relative to a flat response curve because I have the capability of making my system perfectly flat or whatever I want it to be. My ears are not ...
New Dedicated Line - Almost No improvement
It is this kind of audiophile sh-t that drives me nuts. All you have to do is buy equipment that has audiophile nut proof power supplies and you do not have to worry about anything except maybe lightening storms.
Revox Straight Line Turntables
The model I remember that we sold in the store did not have a phono stage. It had a moving magnet cartridge. They also broke a lot. I tried not to sell them. We also had the Harmon Cardboard straight line tracker. What a nightmare that thing was. ...
Shouldn't This Sound Boomy?
@bobpyle , unfortunately Bob, your ears do not a reference point make. You can not tell someone how to make their system sound like you want to hear. What is it that you want to hear? Well perhaps you like your system a little brighter. What does ...
New user phono question. Comes with free story.
Unless you already have a substantial vinyl collection you are way better off sticking to digital sources. Building a vinyl system that will compete with digital is expensive and time consuming. Vinyl is a PITA. Why so many of us love it (includes...
Shouldn't This Sound Boomy?
@bobpyle ,the Q5s are a great speaker. Magico is perhaps my favorite dynamic speaker manufacturer. The Q series subwoofers are the best commercial subwoofers available sonically just way too big for my situation. They need to design smaller versio...
Shouldn't This Sound Boomy?
@bobpyle , you need to attend smaller venues like the Blue Note in NYC and The Regata Bar in Boston. Rock concerts are Mono PA sound are worthless for evaluating home system. Fortunately, most live recordings are taken off the sound board and mixe...
Shouldn't This Sound Boomy?
@baclagg , This looks more like I would expect. By 28 Hz your bass is down 15dB. To give you the feel of a live performance you want you bass up 5 to 10 dB between 20 and 30 Hz. This is what subwoofers are for. At 200 Hz there is a 7 dB variation ...
