Vibratory or Not?
Hi tjbhuler, good to see you and thank you!"Are they all talking the same thing as you have been for the past 3 decades when you say vibratory tuning ?"More or less, yes. Many of mine incorporate variable adjustments much like musical instruments ...
Talk but not walk?
Hi hombreI have heard the sound you are talking about since the late 70's with audio equipment and have found it not to be digital but field related. Meaning the materials being used in the components interacting with the audio signal and the fields.
Vibratory or Not?
Hi GeoffWhen you did your research on the 4 above you did not find any variables? I have yet to find any audio placements to not be consistent with the four fundamental interactions.I don't see any differing definitions within the physics teaching...
Vibratory or Not?
Yikes, sorry Geoff I see you removed the question. Oh well it's a good question and needs to be asked and explained, because in this hobby vibration is so often used as a villain.
Vibratory or Not?
Geoff asked"Oscillation is not vibratory. Agree? Disagree?"The term vibration is precisely used to describe mechanical oscillation. That's a wiki quote.Yes oscillation is vibratory. Oscillation is another very cool word. Vibration, oscillation, cy...
Why are you into hi end audio?
The SoundStage! This sounds bad I know unless you're understanding where I'm coming from but trophy audio sounds horrible to me. A system that is tunable though is hard to pull me away from. Lock me away and through away the key. There is nothing ...
Vibratory or Not?
Exactly, Tonian is actually one of my reference speakers. In fact when Tony delivered mine I asked him if he minded me making it variable. The Rev6 Signature came out so I hadn’t the chance to explore this further. First thing Tony said to me when...
Vibratory or Not?
GentlemanOn these threads there are many debates about the making and use of tweaks, some of them get vary heated. I myself could careless about the heated debates here and who thinks who is right or wrong. I'm here for one purpose and one only. H...
Vibratory or Not?
Hi ErikMy point of this thread is the same as I have been telling, teaching and showing the audio industry for all my life. The method of tuning is the method of audio performance. It's not a fixed quantity but a variable one. mg
Vibratory or Not?
For myself it’s a no brainer as to what HEA folks want to call things and I don’t much get involved in the debating team. The signal is highly tunable and that’s the part I care about. Saying that, I’ve always studied in the area of the four funda...
Vibratory or Not?
Hi Erik"Vibration is a mechanical phenomenon whereby oscillations occur about an equilibrium point."HEA is a little weird when they talk about "vibration". They tend to paint a negative when there's much more to the order of harmonics. It's all vi...
How much do we at A'gon influence the industry?
Hi ErikAudiogon is read, it’s not trusted though and it’s not a big part of the newer movements. I talk with my friends in Asia every day who have more of a pulse for this topic. They have listening gatherings far more than anything here in the st...
Soundstaging and Imaging: Not an Illusion
I’ve started this thread http://forum.audiogon.com/discussions/vibratory-or-not I hope you guys will visit it and give your thoughts. I’ve reintroduced this thought a few times here and see it being talked about often but it still needs clarity. B...
How much do we at A'gon influence the industry?
Hi ErikThis is a question I and my associates happen to be right in the middle of as we speak. In fact some of them are here at my place over this weekend. The question is not about the posters as much as it is the readers. What you are not seeing...
Hate to do this again. Start over. Class d
Hi pcc67First, I wouldn't worry too much about the fighting. Starting new threads are going to help and is a good idea. As far as the fighting it simply reflects a change over into a newer era of technology and thinking about the playback somewhat...
