Tell me about your sweet spot.
I've been playing around with this for the last few days...sigh...(just realized how bad that sounds as I'm typing). I sit in nearfield, and have the lasers meeting at about 4 inches from my forehead (damn, why is it so hard to answer this thread!...
I could use some jazz mentoring.
All good recommendations. I just want to add on to Sdcampbell's Charles Lloyd recordings. Check out Forest Flower; nice mellow sax with some great piano works from Keith Jarrett. For some reason, Jarret's works with Miles Davis didn't stand out in...
Noise around outlet, help
I've decided to get an electrician to come in and take a look at all the outlets I've switched in the past and inspect the whole house for any lose wires. Better safe than sorry with this stuff, thanks all.
Noise around outlet, help
Hello, thanks Albert and Glen. I've worked on it this morning. The Hubbell is from World Power, has side terminal screws, copper wiring, and was installed by me. I've cut off about 2 inches on all the hot, neutral, and ground and reconnected the H...
Your favorite recent discovery
Keith Jarrett. I've been listening to some Charles Lloyd recently, and Keith Jarret was absolutely awesome on those recordings. Picked up La Scala, and was totally blown away by it.
Have A Great Summer Everyone
It is 55/48 rain as of now in Boston. For the first time in my life I'm envious of someone ;). If all goes well, I'll be heading to the West Coast myself after grad-school. I'm thinking San Fran because I'm in the financial industry, but would pre...
Balanced Power BP-3.5 Sig. vs. Hydra 8
I'm expecting my BP 3.5 to be here next week. I think this has been compared before on some of the older threads.
Soundproofing Hi-Rise Apt?
Hi,I can relate to your problem as I also live in a highrise. I would go with Kr4's suggestion, find out who's really complaining. In my case it was my upstairs neighbor. I sort of luck out (I have a corner unit also), the gentleman downstairs has...
Drums reproduction
Just a question for the more experienced music fans, but does this have something to do with the basic structure of the music? In jazz, drums are part of the rhythm section; back-ground support for soloists to build their repertoires on. If record...
Is Nipper real?
Funny I was just thinking about this the other day. I have a Pekingnese that when he was a pup, I would put on classical music before I went to work. He's three now, and in comparison to my other dogs, he is much smarter. He's more attentive, lear...
Who Was Your Favorite One Hit Wonder
Biz Marckie (spelling?)"Just a friend".
Bob Dylan: What do you folks thing about this?
Thanks for the insights on Dylan. That's more of what I was looking for. As the person starting the thread, I felt somehow inclusive in reading Mt10425's response. My apologies for the misunderstanding and unwarranted negativism.
Bob Dylan: What do you folks thing about this?
Whoaaah, no need to get defensive. I was curious as to if there was something going on that I was not aware of. This in no way takes away anything of Dylan as a musician, and to some, a phrophet. Mt10425, did I make any indication that I was bitch...
Sistrum or Neuance or...?
This hydra type of thread refuses to die. The more someone tries to kill it, the more heads it grows. As someone lacking techinical knowledge but a firm believer that the right rack makes or breaks a system, I love it!
Feedback, please on new Electraglide Mini Khan Plus
I'm actually waiting for some feed-back on this cord also. I'm interested in some Elrods for my front-end but their inflexibility leaves me looking for other options. The mini-khan seems flexible and a real alternative. I would love to hear some o...
