An indoor FM tuner better than the Terk FM+?
I am now ready to answer my own question -I have been trying out more antennas and I believe the answer is NO - I have not found an indoor FM antenna significantly better than the Terk FM+.I tried the Godar, the Tune trapper, a Radio shack folded ...
Good Sounding Speaker that Won't Attract Thieves?
Old Sansui speakers don't look like much but I understand some of them sound pretty good. May need refoaming etc. but you should be able to pick a pair up cheap if you can find someone local selling some.Mark
NHT help
I agree with Robr45 - with the low pass set at 35 hz you aren't accomplishing much. I would try 80 or 100 hz.Did you try emailing NHT's customer service? They have been very helpful for me.Mark

Rnm4 -Your right - sure it would be possible to eat a whole large order of Five Guys fries. But I don't think very many people actually do it.Mark

I defy anyone to eat a whole large order of Five Guys' fries. It is way too much even for two people.Mark
Record grooves under an electron microscope
I have access to an electron microscope at work and would be glad to take a couple pictures if someone has interest. The only problem is that to get a decent image on something like vinyl you really need to sputter a little gold on first and I don...
Speaker separation versus listening distance??
NHT recommended 1 to 1.5, meaning if your speakers are 6' apart you want to be 9' away.Mark

Unsound I kind of agree. I wouldn't say five guys outright sucks but it would becso much better if you could get a burger cooked medium rare. Even the big chain places like chilis etc burgers have gotten to be at least tolerable since they started...

An indoor FM tuner better than the Terk FM+?
I wish I could but my house is a loft-style and has no attic. I do already have an outdoor TV antenna installed but I get no signal from it. It has an amplifier on it somewhere and I think it has died.Mark
Aperion Audio T6 VS NHT Classic Four
I have the NHTs but have not heard the Aperions so can't really make a direct comparison. Judging by the specs and design I would say the NHT has more bass extension. The Aperions (probably not coincidentally) have more sensitivity.Mark
An indoor FM tuner better than the Terk FM+?
Of course I meant antenna not tuner! I wish there was an edit function. Thanks for the reply mapman. I may take you up on the offer for the Godar. Mark
anyone gotten a scratch on component and gone mad
I agree with Kurt- that's one of the reasons I buy used. Mark
multichannel amps with individual level controls?
Sony made a 5.1 channel analog preamp that does this kind of thing- the TA-P9000ES. There is a stereophile review online. It's a good piece but somewhat rare. Anyway I would consider adding a preamp if you can't find an amp that does what you need...
