Help me solve static electricity problem I agree with Al- a static shock should not cause your system to go into protection. My guess is something else is wrong. Where I live low RH is just a fact of life in the winter, and even though I run 3 humidifiers shocks happen regularly. All of ...
Rack/component fans? You could try coolerguys.com. I asked them a question a couple of weeks ago and they never answered but maybe you will have better luck. Mark
can i use an integrated amp with my HT receiver? It is possible if your receiver has pre outs and there are a couple of ways you could do it. You could connect the reciever preouts to the integrateds mainin, and use the integrated to power the fronts. You would then have to check your sound level...
SS bias pot tweaks? Be careful - my amp is in the shop because I very stupidly shorted something out when I was measuring the bias voltage.Mark
Sacd recommendations Thanks for the recommendations. I already have most of those mentioned except for the levinson recordings, and they seem to be hard to find.It seems to me that once Sony stopped throwing money around labels stopped releasing SACDs. Kind of disappo...
best speaker wire for buck I would use blue jeans cable 12 gauge wire. About the same price as home depot 12 gauge (~60 cents/foot) and much nicer build. Mark

Maple Shade Recordings? I agree with lindisfarne. I have a couple of their CD's and while they are technically impeccable I think there is a reason no one has ever heard of any of these artists. Not that they are bad artistically but it is just that there are other artis...
Powerful and strong ss amp at low cost. There is a Sony n9000es listed right now. It's a very well built multichannel amp but it has a 200wpc stereo mode. Worth considering!Mark
Drill holes in rack shelf to keep amp cool? John-You make a good point. I haven't really cranked the amp yet so I don't know how hot it could get, but for average listening volumes it is only slightly warmer than my surround reciever. I am probably being a little paranoid. Its just that I h...
Drill holes in rack shelf to keep amp cool? Thanks for the responses, everyone. The amp is an early 90's Sony TA-N80ES. It is open underneath the heat sink. If you want to see a picture of it's insides go to:http://www.thevintageknob.org/SONY/sonyes/TAN80ES/TAN80ES-MK1.htmlI have a picture o...
Upgrading from NAD 320 BEE? Not sure if this is allowed or not but I just listed a barely used NAD C355BEE for what I feel is a fair price. Mark |
