Speaker Recommendation up to 70k They need a lot of power, but MBL are unique and amazing. The most real sounding speakers I ever heard are Rockport.
Help wanted spending money and improving my system. +1 for Townshend PodiumsIME, the improvements in SQ was so dramatic it was shocking.I know you are happy with your spikes and rubber floor, but the Podiums work well with any flooring. And by removing the vibration of the speakers everything about...
High Fidelity Cables, why most threads about them got deleted @ozzy I am waiting for my NPS 1260.How have you applied it?
SET the best? Suggest you look at my thread: “Is there a SS amp that can satisfy a SET guy?”:https://forum.audiogon.com/discussions/is-there-a-solid-state-amp-that-can-satisfy-a-set-guy?highlig...Mostly, the answer is no. With 1 or 2 exceptions.Bakoon and AGDI ...
Are Quicksilver power tube amps in the same league as VAC, VTL, BAT, ARC, ...? I used tone a QS dealer. Truly great stuff. Felt his best are the mini monos. Those are the ones that Mike uses in his system.QS does not spend a lot on cosmetics and the parts are not the best. For under $5K, you can’t go wrong.
Fidelity vs. Musicality...........Is there a tug of War? I should have said “Fidelity is Musicality or Vis-à-versa”.I like the metaphor that improvement in SQ is akin to focus of a camera. When things sound clear, the focus of the SQ is “right”.
Need help buying new speaker cable I also considered Audioquest Rocket 88. But, fortunately, Forum members started raving about Silversmith Fideliums. These are priced about the same as the AQ but may be the best speaker cables regardless of price. I replaced very good $6000 cables...
You own a store, you sell 2 brands, which? Considering the rebirth of vinyl and nice offerings of speakers and electronics all modestly priced, Rega. And a very popular and venerable with a wide line of speakers, Klipsch.
I’m in trouble Best amps regardless of price are AGD Audions.
Biggest "bang for the buck" audio gear you have owned(in your history)? Without doubt, for $2400 I completely transformed my system with Townshend Seismic Podiums under my speakers. The improvement in SQ is more than any component. Followed closely by AGD Audion mono blocks. By far, the best amps I have experienced in...
Fidelity vs. Musicality...........Is there a tug of War? “Fidelity is Musicality”! Surely one can dissect the sound from an audiophile perspective. But I choose not to “tear apart the flower”.By doing so, the flower is no longer beautiful.Admittedly, I do take note of the imaging. But am very fortunate ...
If there’s an audiophile exit ramp, this ain’t it… Your Absolare integrated is very interesting. And how it must be a terrific match for your 5/5s. How would you compare the 5/5s to Harbeth 40s? Love the BBC sound!
If there’s an audiophile exit ramp, this ain’t it… It is a merry-go-round. I finally got off after 50 years. In fact, this is my anniversary. Got my first system when I went away to college at 18.Sure, it was great fun to get a shiny, new component. At least until the flash wore off. I am content t...
Quantum Science Audio Thread QSA fuses are a sure improvement. But I question the stones. At least only one pair of red on my power conditioner, preamp power supply, and amp transformers. At least on my system... nothing.
Aren't you sorry you missed out on this one? It's already sold out! LOL Clever cross marketing. An already well received deck with a sunburst finish to harken to end user’s beloved guitars. As a guitarist, I have always had strong affection for my sunburst guitars. But, mostly, this type of finish is used for acoustics... |
