Subwoofer Controls? Dual Volume Setting
I have a Velodyne HGS-12 and feel that it works very well for both audiophile and HT music. I have Proceed/Pass/Revel/NBS stuff. I have the sub sourced from the "Sub out" on the Proceed processor, which allows me to choose which channels the sub g...
Cable TV / Subwoofer HUMMMMMMM
The cable ground breaker is the formal low cost solution, but actually I just attached a wire from the ground on my amp to an aligator clip which I connected to the shield of the cable tv cable (the outside screw connector). You might need to "lif...
Krell versus Levinson experience
I agree with Briweve. I loved my #331 until I heard the Pass Aleph 4. I put the ML up for sale the next week. It was the proverbial case of "lifting the veil" from the music. Much more real.
S-Video Cable - is there much difference

S-Video Cable - is there much difference
I bought Synergistic Research Video Reference (around $100)s-video cables a few months ago. The cable is composed of two individual cables (1 for lu, 1 for cr), each shielded and then strapped together, with gold connectors. I feel that the color ...
Revel Studio,B&W 802's,Ect....
I have the Studios and love them. I think they sound much more "live"l than the B&Ws. BTW: The Gems are wonderful as well. They just need a subwoofer.
Aleph Owners and Users...
I have an Aleph 4 (100w/ch in one large box) and love it. Its the truest sounding amp I've owned so far. MGottlieb is right, though, they really use a lot of power and generate a lot of heat. Its no surprise, they run "pure class A", no switching ...
Is the center the center ??
I've found Phantom mode to work great when you don't have an equal quality center, but when you do, a center speaker really "locks" in the center. Revel makes a big deal out of timbre matching, which they claim does not mean "exactly the same as R...
CD Players with volume controls
My only comment: make sure it uses an analog volume control. Digital volume controls are easier, but they compromise resolution.
P 600 and my TV
Hey, I'm running a Pioneer Elite Pro 97 on my PS Audio P600 powerplant just fine. Its been working every day since last May. AND, I really like the improved color and less smearing with the P600. Don't know what your problem is, since the Pro97 dr...
Patricia Barber and Stereophile
I have Cafe Blue and think the recording quality is great, but the music is slow and boring. I prefer Diana Krall, especially Love Scenes.
Any Amps with Volume control??
Check out the 47 Labs "Gaincard S" amp. Its a true dual monaural amp the size of a pack of cigaretts and 50w/channel with incredible sound. It has attenuators on the front. See info at their distributor: http://www.sakurasystems.com/ I have one of...
Class "A" solid state vs. Tube amp.?
I'm not a tube expert, but have tried several, including the VT100 mkII and McIntosh mono blocks. I have also tried many SS amps, including Levinson and Krell. My current favorite is the Pass Labs Aleph 4 (pure class A). For some music some tube a...
How do I listen to stereo audio?
I suggest you sell your Levinson pre and purchase a Proceed AVP. Its a HT pre/processor that contains many of the best Levinson components (such as their best multibit DACS in the right and left channels). I'm very happy with it.
Best solid-state amp made anywhere
I love my Pass Labs Aleph 4, but if you have not yet heard the 47 labs Gaincard S(but not for high volume) you will be surprised!
