Sad to say I need a new amp…
Hmmm... Bryston is looking pretty good now! I think I would look to Parts Connexion or somewhere similar to get it fixed.
What stereo equipment do respected musicians listen to?
I don't know about musicians but the studious I have been in are filled with Bryston  components.
Suggestions for a streamer only (I have a great DAC)
Bryston BDP v3 is wonderful and way underrated. I have tried some of the others mentioned here but their software was usually slow but almost always buggy. The Bryston solution is not.

I do all 4 er 5 er 6...   *1 - Vinyl / turntable 1 - SACD player is so analogue, it is always my first choice 2 - Redbook CD is still, for me, the 2nd best 3 - 24/96 or better usually approaches my Redbook CD player, but not always 4 - As lo...
Your single most significant purchase mistake?
Rel s812 subs. Without a doubt the worst purchase I ever made. Kept believing all that hype but when it came time to perform, although they were fast, they just didn’t go low enough and were incredibly difficult to integrate. (I guess most likely ...
McIntosh -- good for show, not for sound, says dealer
Well I've had mac gear in the past, I also think it's just okay. Certainly not my cup of tea. But honestly I think it looks worse than it sounds. Never liked it's looks. But you can get this gear used all the time for really good prices.
Appreciate Some Dac Advice
Bought a Gustard X26 too, and kept it. Had others that were more expensive (more than double the price actually), and quite honestly the x26 is better than some of my other DACs that I got a hold of for way, way less than 1/2 the price. The Europ...
Short list of musical subwoofers
I also was once a REL believer. But then for fun I replaced 2 REL S/812s with 2 Rythmic G22s (the dual opposing 12 inch subs). They just integrate much, much better with my system and I can fine tune that integration. In addition there is now mor...
Roon Streaming Service actually Degrades the sound
Tried Roon a couple of times, but found Audirvana on a stripped down NUC just sounds noticeably better. Roon does look better though, but then again I am not looking at the sound.
750$ Intel NUC vs $6000 Aurender N200: I don't hear the difference
In the same light I had an Innous player come in for an audition. It was played through USB. My normal player is an Intel nuc i3 with 8gb ram, using Audirvana 3.5 and out a Matrix USB card all attached to a LPS.  The Innous was bested by a bit bu...
.? Digital Reclocking and syncing clocks does anyone know the correct Answrrsb
@lordmelton thanks for the unnecessary jab, and for your edification I have never bought any sound equipment without an audition. Thank goodness, right? But plunking money down on a reclocking device is insignificant compared to putting that mone...
What's up with Innuos?
Yup, got rid of mine and bought a Bryston. Rock solid software. (Much less hardware) even if the manic mouse is less than stellar looking it seems to be bulletproof.
.? Digital Reclocking and syncing clocks does anyone know the correct Answrrsb
For all of those people who are reading through this complete thread, take Cindyment's advice. The information he gave was factual and absolutely correct. These reclockers may do something but if your DAC is already 'substantial' enough, you would...
Is the Audio Ref-6SE worth 7K more than the BAT VK-80?
Interesting question for me as well, because I was in a similar situation but with an updated SF Line 1 SE+.   I looked everywhere for its replacement including BAT and ARC, PS AUDIO, Macintosh, etc... and when it came time to pull the trigger I...
Bryston Preamps - What do they sound like?
Just had to comment on what someone said about the BP17 and the Topping pre90. These 2 are just not in the same ballpark, the Topping pre is for a nice computer setup in the office. Also maybe the system he listens to them sounds "thin" to begin w...
