Rives Audio Consulting - Advice?
Well, this was an ongoing issue for about 3 years, so it is too much to go into here- I just can't type that much. Fundamentally, from the day the room was built I had and continue to have huge bass issues. And not only with the original speakers ...
Rives Audio Consulting - Advice?
Two sides to every nickel. My experience with Rives when and after they did my room is one of the worst experiences I've had in audio. But I'm happy for you guys that had a good outcome.

'they blew'em off the stage'
Hey thanks Marty, I'll check the Mercer CD out. Luna, Feelies and Galaxy 500 all had some good stuff around then, and all were good live shows. I think they had some member hopping between those bands also.
'they blew'em off the stage'

Has anyone lost their best friend?
Yep, 2 weeks ago, 3 legged black lab named Coltrane. Running and listening companion. Requiescat in pace.
Sonny Rollins
Heard an interview with him a about a year ago and he said he still practices hours a day. Still loves to play and said he is still trying new things and perfecting old ones. Quite admirable for a man of his stature to still be trying to improve. ...
Thinking of selling my Teres
Hey Dan- Along with the Partridges and Cowsils, I assume ;8^)
Thinking of selling my Teres
Hey Plato, boy did you just bring me back. I saw John Miles open for Tull in the late 70's, and it was a great performance. Immediately bought the LP( Rebel, I think) that song is from. Hadn't thought of him in a looooong time.
Revel Salon 2 versus WP 8
Elberoth2- I'm not a bit surprised by Jkalmans bass problems. I too have a Rives room and have been fighting a huge 80hz bump even after adding (rather, knocking out a finished wall and building) a large Helmholz resonator. After parading a number...

Einstein The Tube pre vs Nagra PL-L or VTL7.5 II
Essentialaudio. I'm shocked.
The Room
By the same token, one can spend a large some of money on the room, and if poorly designed, end up with a poor sounding or even unlistenable room. Then you're in the same position of essentially chasing the right gear to make up for the bad room. ...
What song best describes you or your life?
