Musetec (LKS) MH-DA005 DAC
@ja_kub_sz I'm looking forward to your report-comparison to the $13,400 Tambaqui.  They've already been compared on this thread by someone.  I love these David v. Goliath trials.

@romazicon  I appreciate your last post.  It provides plenty to think about. But I would ask again for you to tell us where you bought and returned the 005.  As I wrote, there have been many posts about returning the DAC.  As yet there has been ...
Musetec (LKS) MH-DA005 DAC
@romazicon  Thanks for your forthright comment.  No one, I think, has said this is the best DAC of all or that is the DAC for everyone.  I wonder, though, if I could ask you about two things. You said that you returned the DAC.  At one point in ...
Musetec (LKS) MH-DA005 DAC
@lordmelton  They sold (or sell) a matching LPS for it.
Musetec (LKS) MH-DA005 DAC
@lordmelton That LKS unit is a very old model, even proceeding the LKS 003 IIRC. That and the Singxer were popular before the DAC makers brought the function on board. It cannot be as good as what you already have in the Musetec. But who knows? ...

@car123 I have often recommended Audioquest Pearl as a good and safe USB cable. It’s a solid core cable. Solid core was first recommended to me for digital by a well-respected cable guru on another site. The Pearl is inexpensive, well enough made...
Musetec (LKS) MH-DA005 DAC
@lemonhaze  When someone says "if it performs as described" seems to me a clear suggestion that perhaps it does not.  You don't need a question mark to question what's been written here.  And, of course you're free to trust or distrust, as you say...
Musetec (LKS) MH-DA005 DAC
@lemonhaze  You write: "the apparently amazing 005 which if it performs as described is at an equally amazing price." I have to inquire why there's an "if" there.  Why would you think that the DAC does not "perform as described."  Do you have any...

@sns  The 9028 chip is also used in the Benchmark DAC3 I think.  It's one of the more popular DACs @sns @charles1dad  What I had suggested is, with a given the level of mastering, users of the various Red Book (and even DSD) upscalings of program...
Musetec (LKS) MH-DA005 DAC
@car123 @benzman It’s been covered before about the USB cable. The Amanero board in the Musetec is powered, and powered very well by the banks of supercapacitors. That’s one of the great features of the DAC. Therefore there is no current flowing...
Musetec (LKS) MH-DA005 DAC
@benzman System matching is always a critical issue. I’ve always opted for neutrality in each component if I can find it. You may be able to compensate a bit with tubes in your preamp, the same as I use. I think your focus on the DAC chips may ...
Understanding MQA/tidal/ DA conversion
I agree with @vinylvalet  Do yourself and the audio world a favor and let MQA pass away.
Musetec (LKS) MH-DA005 DAC
@sns  @charles1dad  There is no question, I think, but that the best of the new DACs take Redbook further than before.  My own experience is that the Musetec brings Redbook closer to high resolution than did the LKS, already close.  All this has...
Good cost effective USB cables for digital audio please
I recommended Audioquest Pearl.  It's a simple, well made solid core copper and very easy on the pocketbook.  If your DAC provides sufficiency in the high frequencies it will serve you very well.  If you need more in the highs, getting the AQ with...
