Rega Brio or...? I had a rega brio and dac combo for quite awhile. I really liked that little setup. Truth be told I kinda miss them sometimes. I eventually moved on for more powerful pastures but I kinda wish I still had them around to build a smaller second syst...
Tekton or Klipsch Well this thread has certainly given me a lot to think about. Further reading shows quite a few people prefer the heresys with a subwoofer to the fortes on their own. I know I really enjoyed the brief time I spent with them and I do already have a...
Tekton or Klipsch Hmm this info on the gain is interesting. Even now with the Kef’s i rarely go past 9 o’clock position. Sometimes maybe 10when I’m listening to vinyl.
Tekton or Klipsch Struck out on the fortes. The store I went to didn’t have any of the heritage line. Did listen to some magnepans which were nice but not what I’m looking for. What I’m looking for? While I appreciate the detail and nuance of the kefs, Those aren’t...
Tekton or Klipsch Currently using a rega brio-r. It’s been a fantastic performer and I’m curious about its sound with more efficient speakers. That being said, It’s likely next to be upgraded. Really curious about moving into tubes. I got a little tube cube for my ...
Tekton or Klipsch I'm hoping to hear the fortes tomorrow but the tekton's will be tricky. I don't suppose anyone in Ohio has a pair of Double Impacts they would be willing to demo?
Tekton or Klipsch I agree but unfortunately that is generally easier said than done. Often I find myself having to drive well out of town if not out of state when I have a specific speaker or audio item I want to listen to.
HE Eliptical Thanks again. I went ahead and told him to do the HE.
HE Eliptical It's only $50 more. I Know it's not the most adjustable arm and I have no idea when I might upgrade. I have always enjoyed the table and really was not planning on replacing it anytime soon. But that doesn't mean that if in opportunity comes up I ...
HE Eliptical Ok so let me as you this. The cart is a sumiko blue point special evo III. It will likely be going on a thorens td160 with the original TP16 tonearm. Would it be worth it to go for the HE elliptical with this setup or would the tonearm prevent me ...
HE Eliptical Thanks! That is exactly what I needed to know. What should I be aware as far as being more careful during setup? Anything more than making sure my alignment and VTF are correct?
What is the missing element? Ok so this is interesting. My v-link that I had been using just up and died on me. So for the time being, I just plugged the dac directly into the usb port and to my surprise, in some ways it actually sounds better. Overall the sound is smaller an...
What is the missing element? Well speak of the devil. I think my v-link just died on me. One second it was working fine and then the sound just disappeared. If I plug the dac directly into the computer through the usb I have sound. I think it new I was talking bad about it.
What is the missing element? Steve, you have been absolutely awesome. I genuinely wish I could afford your products but they are just out of my price range. I will definitely keep them in mind for down the road though.
What is the missing element? Thanks audioengr. I will certainly look into your advice. As to the whole usb s/pdif argument, I don't deny that as an output, s/pdif has some definite advantages over straight usb and I admit that I possess only the most basic understanding of ho... |
