Vibrapods under speakers
There was an article couple years ago about this at soundstage.com where Greg Weaver and another reviewer replaced the black diamond racing cones on their Von Schweikert speakers with vibrapods and were amazed at the difference in sound. May still...
Vibrapods under speakers
I have done much experimentation in this area. Go to localdept store and get 2 18x24 glass cutting boards, cost $5-10each, use marker and layout speaker base dimensions, locateglass boards on carpet where speakers will rest. Now arrange your vibra...
MIT dig/HT magic/Illumination?nirvana?
I don't know what the "best" is but I use MIT digital reference, provides smooth treble and powerful detailed bass. Illuminations D60 or HT Cyber Platinum are very detailed, would be better in a warm toned system that playshigh quality CDs, don't ...
beethoven 9th..which recording
Tim the Karajan 63 & 77 recordings have some noticeable differences, as does the entire Beethoven symphony cyclerecorded then. I much prefer the 1977 9th, it is a more inspired reading and the closing of the final movement has a passion and fu...

Techno Anyone?
There are excellent "techno" oriented albums that aren't in the least bit boring or repetitive, and the sound quality is excellent. Early Chemical Brothers, Crystal Method, Juno Reactor, Fluke.....these are all much better than the one techno albu...

Fot $1-2,000 new if you are looking for warm relaxed sound go to Rotel 990 which has adjustable dither. For greater transparancy and more detail go to Musical Fidelity A3CD or if you can afford it Arcam FMJ. Even better sound can be acheived by us...

I would contact Galen Carol, very knowledgeable and friendly, good prices. He is Marsh dealer, and has large selection of other lines, you usually can talk to him when you call his Texas store, www.gcaudio.com/infomarsh.htm
Granite Under Speakers Over A Wood Floor
CornFB back to your original response I noticed several speakers in photos at CES using 12x12 polished marble tilesunder spiked speakers, sometimes turned diagonally for wide speakers. I recently bought some for $2 each at local builder square for...
Audio Prism s CD Black light disc mat
I found no positive effect on sound, I have tried several CDmats now and none gave me any noticeable improvement. It seemed to make CD harder to spin and grip by CD motor also.
Speaker placement directly on floor?
Forgot to mention that Polycrystal (and Audiopoints) cancome with 1/4 - 20 threads that screw directly into baseof PSB Gold-i. Audiopoints are brass, manf recommends slim version for Golds. Polycrystal are also brass, but coated with polycrystal m...
Speaker placement directly on floor?
I use Polycrystal collossial spikes under my PSB Silver-ito great effect. You will definitely want to look at area rug on floor between you and speakers, as tile/concrete floor will cause unwanted signal reflections.
Demagnetize or NOT ?
AG George always has useful, informative posts posts IMO.I own both RS demag unit and Bedini II, and feel that demagof Cds may offer some modest improvement, although sometimes I don't bother to do it. Furutech is supposed to be best unit of this ...
Difference between original and remaster
Very likely could be better, I do not own that album, but"sultans of swing" the 1998 HDCD remasterd greatest hits album may be the best sound of any mainstream rock CD I have ever heard, must own material!
