nu vista m3 remote?
Would one from another model work, good possibility I think. It might narrow down finding something that works. Contacting MF wouldnt be a bad idea http://www.musicalfidelity.com/support/
McCormack LD-2 pre or a Mark Levinson?
I like and prefer the traditional pots while making manual adjustments, the silky smooth feel and weight of some is almost therapeutic in a way (no thats not too weird is it). I found I can also live without one since that preamp has a remote. I w...
what houseold items
I forgot about the chopping blocks, I have a few of those myself. Purchase of one cross laminated maple 2" thick cutting board $19. Price of same board labelled as amp platforms in a boutique shop $199.Armor all can make badly scratched cds sound ...

Nelson Pass Forte Audio.Yes the OP asked for less expensive even vague yet people continue to drop some of the biggest names out there.
Budget amp for NS-1000. Rotel, march or parasound?
It sounds like the Rotel might have some technical problem or the speaker polarity was wrong, or maybe both. Pro amps are for some while not so much others. One I can live with is my crown XLS-1500. You could probably purchase one new within your ...
Budget amp for NS-1000. Rotel, march or parasound?
I’ve never played Marsh amplifiers but can and will say some of the earlier John Curl Parasound is excellent bang for your buck, not easy to surpass. When trying to fit that criteria I would not hesitate on them. Or NAD should the opportunity aris...

If you have not yet incorporated the kitchen sink to potentially enhance your listening experience some way or another :PInteresting idea this person has using the exercise steppers for isolation. Filled with water or sand he might be on to someth...
need your advice on speakers and CD players
I have stayed away from rear ported speakers in the past only because adequate space was a concern. Given unlimited space to play with they often sound superior (to me) unless were talking certain TL's or acoustic suspension. I am a fanboy of both...
Help with speaker placement in my real life room
Even though I like the blinds some thick material window treatments could sound better. I would also be tempted to relocate the flexi rack (nice one BTW) and have the power amps on the floor sitting on platforms. It may not be that much of a hindr...
Life without a remote
The only time I can live without a remote is when Im playing DJ at a party using my PA equipment and standing in reach. Or when the electronics are within reach from my lazy-boy seat. I set my analog tuner up on my coffee table right next to me si...
Subwoofer
120 hz looks to be about the average crossover cut off point on many commercial subs. They are capable but you will create unwanted over lap and have problems integrating them. At least that has been my experience. When subs are set too high for t...
Buying Without Audition
A collection of reviews can be helpful if options are limited. That and try to choose newer equipment in good shape and that's favorable among the masses so turning it over again wont be as much trouble. Youll have to eat shipping fees but its not...
