Aurender Model Choices
@jfrmusic  This topic has received quite alot of attention on Audiogon - and other forums - recently.  There are definitely opposing views on this, so I would encourage you to do what you’re doing; keep an open mind and sort thru the issues in a ...
Aurender Model Choices
Here’s another thread, this one on Roon Labs, where several Benchmark DAC owners swear by their Raspberry Pi’s - one discusses his comparison to an Aurender unit: https://community.roonlabs.com/t/what-led-you-to-benchmark/238494
Aurender Model Choices
Ran across this thread on another forum.  Another Benchmark DAC owner reached out to Benchmark to ask about streamers.  Interesting response: https://www.audioaficionado.org/showthread.php?t=52456 Not really a surprise though.  This is the same ...

oops, sorry, you need both a server for your use case.  But same idea, even more so on the server side.  For that, there are a lot of cheaper alternatives; one that I have alot of experience with are the sonicTransporters from Snall Green Computer...

have to agree with @benanders on this one.  The extent to which streamers have a “sound” is somewhat controversial in some circles (i.e., if jitter and power source noise is minimized).  So spending a lot of $ on your first streamer seems like a b...
Floorstanding speaker experiences/recommendations in the $12-25k range
You have a cool system, and the Octave has more guts than most tube amps, particularly with the black box.  I know one dealer who has paired it with Wilson Sabrinas and really likes the combo.  Re speakers, I heard some Rethm Trishnas at Capital A...
Ways to make your digital streaming sound better
@bill_peloquin  Great question.  Have thought a lot about this, and here are two of the reasons I’ve come up with: 1) Internet anonymity has diminished the obligation of common civility, which is traditionally reinforced by the social norms of o...
Old phones as streaming sources
“A friend of mine mentioned that Aurender said somewhere in their literature that the streamer accounts for 70% of the sound quality of a system vs 30% DAC…” I don’t mean any disrespect, and I am sure your system sounds great, but that’s absurd (...
Old phones as streaming sources
I don’t know. but it seems to me that in order to be so definitive about a position, it would seem incumbent on the person arguing that position to cite something other than “people who have better streamers”, particularly in light of the science ...
Looking for recommendations for integrated with a more “organic” sound.
Synthesis Roma 96DC for about $3k.
Old phones as streaming sources
@tubeguy76  Ok, sorry about that.  But if you read the Archimago stuff, or if you look at the HiFi News reviews with measurements, the point is not that every streamer measures the same, or will sound the same.  What they demonstrate is that with...
Old phones as streaming sources
@tubeguy76  wrll there you have it!  guess we’re done!
Old phones as streaming sources
you should check out streamer reviews on hifi news.paul miller does a measurements section at the end of each.  in some cases, he shows the inferred jitter and snr of the streamer, and the impact on different dacs. cross walking that to the archim...
DAC/Streamer/PreAmp
lol!  yeah, sorry about that.  I just thought the attacks on @deep_333 were gratuitous.  He just made a joke about scope creep in response to another member.  It was funny.
DAC/Streamer/PreAmp
@jim2  For the record, I did not, and would never, use the word “crap”.  My last post was lightly edited (as in one word) by the moderators.
