CD or Streaming... am I missing out? I only recently began paying attention to the signal path from the modem to the music server and from the modem to the DAC. And linear power supplies. I did not take what people wrote seriously. It was my loss. The quality of streaming when set u...
Takedown of pricey servers, streamers OCD HiFi guy Rego - your comments make a lot of sense. I appreciate those that reminded us of the cost of R&D. What if, after testing many parts over months or years, the Asus parts SOUND the best. Should they substitute a higher-cost part for image purpo...
Doubling a Set of Speaker Cables I use xlo Sig3 shotgun (4x4). They outperform the same model singles. I used to believe audiogoners and Some cable companies that claim higher end cables don’t offer better sound. I wish I’d begun experimenting with cables earlier instead of just ...
Better digital front end for my DAC I’m a big Roon fan but you get a big jump sound quality with mcontrol. I can no longer use Roon for critical listening. i added the uptone audio gen. A BIG upgrade for a modest cost. Not as big of an improvement as going from Roon to mcontrol. I ...
What does Roon give me beyond just Tidal HiFi? I find Roon a pleasure and have enjoyed the interface for several years now. However, I recently tried Mcontrol (to tidal) an app that is recommended by my dac maker (Brinkman) and doggone if there wasn’t a big jump in SQ. I’m using the latest Roo...
Interconnect RCA Cables between Preamp to Poweramp I’m looking to upgrade my rca I/C. Read the raves about Teos here. Sounded too good to be true for the price - and it was in my system, My xlo sig 3 are significantly better than the Teo. The Teos were closer to the MIT sl 26 I use in a second sys...
Tone arm holes do not line up - best way to attach TT? I cannot post a pic, right?
Tone arm holes do not line up - best way to attach TT? The only way to get teh cart to line up is to not have the P2P as specified. If the pivot point is moved a few inches off the Reed specification then the cart lines up. But I cannot have both the P2P and the cart line up.
Tone arm holes do not line up - best way to attach TT? "In reality, if you have the P2S set correctly, that should result in close to proper stylus overhang, and you should not need to do much twisting of the cartridge body at all, with respect to the Reed headshell, to get you into good alignment."Co...
Tone arm holes do not line up - best way to attach TT? Thanks for all the troubleshooting with so limited facts. The cartridge is Triangle Arts Apollo. The TT is Hanss. I only exceeded the weight of 2 grams as an experiment to see what it would take to get the stylus to sit in the grove. It went aroun...
Tone arm holes do not line up - best way to attach TT? Thanks for the encouragement. I was beginning to get the impression that the vinyl hobby was for machinist who loved to tinker and then played music when they got bored :) On a more serious note, I did, in fact, use a piece of walnut and cantileve...
Tone arm holes do not line up - best way to attach TT? Thanks for all your help. My pivot to spindle distance is correct according to the template that came with the Reed. I mentioned the 6" away from the TT to indicate how far away the arm would have to be to fit into the alignment grid. So I guess m...
Tone arm holes do not line up - best way to attach TT? Any ideas on cartridge alignment? I spend an hour on forums and youtube and no one addresses the issue when the alignment falls outside the ability of the arm head-shell to adjust. Thanks.
Tone arm holes do not line up - best way to attach TT? The fO.q tape is available on ebay - $57 for a sheet. Does that sound about right?
Tone arm holes do not line up - best way to attach TT? OK. The stereophile article does not show the other side where there is another mount that has 3 threaded bolt holes. I just used a screw and successfully attached the arm into one of the holes. The other holes do not line up but the one screw is ... |
