Music Hall CD-25 or original Rega Planet?
I believe what you are thinking of is the Cambridge Audio Azur 640H server which retails for $1399 and looks almost identical to the 640C. Actually there has been very little price increase in the Cambridge Audio line. The D500SE retailed for $480...
Would you buy speakers with out first listening ?
Yes, when the price is right. Out of the 5 sets of speakers in my house, I could sell all of them for more then I paid. When the price is right I don't see the harm.BW Maxx
Axiom M80 VS Vienna Acoustic Beethoven on CJ 11A
Man thats a big jump in price! The Rosewood Beethovens list for $5000 and Axioms top of the line M80 goes for $1240.I have limited experience with the Bach, Beethoven and Mozart. Heard them all during one audition session. For what its worth I tho...
What's the "worst" cdp for the money?
Linn Genki. Never heard it myself. Corresponded with a former reviewer at Soundstage who was to have reviewed the Linn CDP.He said it was a real POS. Sounded like a circa 1985 player. He let the editor of Soundstage hear the player and he agreed a...
Please Reccomend Good speakers for $2000 - $2500
Second the Focus Audio's. FA works very well in small rooms and is not picky about amp or source but responds very well to upgrades. Lots of very positive press coverage of the new FS68se on the web. Scanspeak 9500 tweeter, Eton midbass in a 13x7x...

Paradigm vs. Aperion Audio
Don't know anything about the 632. Still have a pair of Aperion 502b's in one of my systems. The 502's really are a midrange speaker, that ignored the extreme highs and lows and concentrated on the vital midrange. On certain tracks the midrange com...
Why are big speakers in small rooms bad?
The only way you will know for sure is to try the PSB's. With the Goldi. As mentioned Bass response will probably be an issue. Another has to do with the speaker being a 3 way. You generally need a fairly large distance between speaker and listene...
Just ordered the Jungson 88D Luxury Edition.
Sekei isn't at the address listed at the website. Andy has a regular day time job and runs the business out of his house so you need to call to demo.Except for the primary system there usually isn't much on display. By the time his shipment arrive...
Just ordered the Jungson 88D Luxury Edition.
Oh yes Greenwood exit 99 or 103? Sekei is about 10 minutes off I65, exit 64 I think, a touch south of Columbus.Andy has the 99C/JA1 in his reference. Same as the 88D but in seperates.BW Maxx
Just ordered the Jungson 88D Luxury Edition.
I guess your talking about Sekei? If so its in Columbus. About 70 miles north of where I live and about 30 south of Indy.I know I hauled my entire system up to Sekei to audition the Jungson. Its definitly worth the effort to pack at least the spea...
Just ordered the Jungson 88D Luxury Edition.
102DB! Man that leaves amp selection wide open. The 88D of course as stated by those who have heard it has a tube like midrange. No brightness, grain or grit in the highs and plenty of power for a 80wpc amp. Some seem to feel Klipsch are ideal for ...
Just ordered the Jungson 88D Luxury Edition.
For class A it runs cool. Not like class a/b or digital of course. But dosen't seem to be any warmer then a Jolida tube amp I had in the system. No problem holding your hand on it as long as you want.BW Maxx
Just ordered the Jungson 88D Luxury Edition.
I agree power cords are tweaks. I can't see IC's or power cords transforming a amp or CDP radically.Bass is very well integrated. It dosen't jump out at you. I mostly listen to rock. One of my previous amps had very tight puchy bass. At first I th...
