GMA Europas vs Platinum Solos
Haven't heard the Solo's, but the GMA Europa is one damn fine speaker. It's strengths are first order x-over done right, amazingly realistic voice range, good bass for it's size, time/phase aligned, and all the imaging comments pointed out by many...
Stands for Green Mountain Europa
Ultimate Support out of Colorado also work/look well with the Europa's. Can be filled with sand. Great speakers.
Monitors - GMA Europa, Spendor S100, & ProAc Tab 8
Haven't heard the other two, but the GMA Europa is one amazing speaker. I have compared it to the Paradigm S-2's, Revels, ADS L-1290, Infinity IRS and others. In each case it was the Europa coming out on top. Hope this helps.
ADS L-980s
A/D/S were used as monitors by the likes of Duetsch Gramaphone and Telarc, but i'm unsure of the exact model(s) they used. You might contact those studios for additional info. Good luck
Green Mountain Europas vs Dali Royal Towers
The Arcam should be fine. These speakers are being used in modest systems and very expensive ones. They sound great on most any amp. I've heard mine on everything from Citation to Arragon to my son's mini cd system's amp (basically a rack system) ...
Green Mountain Europas vs Dali Royal Towers
Do yourself a favor. Listen to the GMA Europa's before you buy any other speaker. They are that good.
GMA Europa vs. Soliloquy 5.3?
Don't know if this helps or not, but when I listened to the Sonus Faber monitors ($1500/pr) the one thing that bothered me as a Europa owner was that I could not follow the bass riffs on any cd I listened to. The Europa's were far more detailed in...
Good monitors used under $1000?
Jer........trust me, they look MUCH better when you see them up close....as in.....not in a photograph. Especially on a nice stand. My wife loves the look (as well as the sound) and so do all her female friends. I get many compliments on their loo...
reactions to SMILE?
If you buy only one cd this year........make sure it's this one. SMiLE is awesome!
Good monitors used under $1000?
You just described perfectly the Green Mountain Audio Europa which lists for the $1000.00 price new. Don't blow these off because of their low list price....they easily outperform a great number of speakers costing 2 or 3 times their price, includ...
GMA Callisto feedback Green Mountain Audio
Hi guys, I own the Europa's and have had them almost two years. Let me tell you your in for some sonic pleasure as they break in fully. This takes around 1000 hours, regardless of what others might say. At that 1000 hour point they become quite se...
GMA Europa discontinued?
Abruce....why? Try this: Post a question here concerning your speaker brand/model and see if the companies chief designer (or anyone from the company) personally answers it in this forum. Then maybe you'll understand. Rare in this day and age to f...
Do 1st Order XO's produce a smaller
Dawgbyte, yeah first order systems generally have a small sweet spot where they are in absolute phase. My Europa's are no different. Having said that, at least they HAVE one. Second, fourth order designs don't. I'll take that small sweet spot over...
Green Mtn Europa vs. Von Schweikert VR1
This says it all:"If I could only keep one pair I personally would go with Europas because I play plenty of rock/alt music that is not recorded well" Most speakers are fine if you only listen to great recordings. Many recordings, especially older ...
I need help from GMA Europa owners
Phasecorrect, I found that the Europa's to be very revealing of interconecting cables. I agree with the recording's and related equipment comments. I find many, if not most speakers add "something" or "take away" something from many recordings. I ...
