Which preamp? Audible Illusions Rogue Audio ARC I have the L-1 and it mates very well with my McCormack DNA-125.One thing you need to be aware of is that the McCormack amps are a little bit sensitive. Not a problem, they just are. So don't yell at them! Seriously, you want to look at pre's with...
Epos ELS 3 I do not know about the ELS3's, but have owned the Epos M12's for about a year. Great speaker and a true bargain. I also owned the Creek 5350SE, same thing. Point being, Mike Creek (Roy Hall) offers some real bang for the buck stuff. Audiophile gr...
A few questions for Green Mountain Europa owners Tennis,I'm glad you mentioned the 100-200 hour time frame improvement. I am at the 100 hour mark right now.Regards,
Rolled off highs with unison unico: any solutions I had the Unico and the stock tubes were horrible. Supposedly the Bugle Boys are extended, and might help. Very pricey though, so I would make sure before you buy.Regards,
Joilda or Music Hall for Hybrid Amp? Mtbrider,He might own more than he knows. Many are not labelled as HDCD. Additionally, there are probably more HDCD's than there are SACD's. However, this should not be the sole reason to purchase the player, like you state. The CD-25 is a very goo...
Review: Blue Circle Audio Sugarbrie Tube Preamp Tube preamp What, he didn't put the pre in pair of hiking boots or something? He must be getting old.Great review of the pre but even better a great statement of the type of guy/owner/designer Gilbert is.Thank you for the review.
Verdict on Pure Note, Ridge Street w solid state ? I have used both with great results in a SS system in a small room.Regards,
best low $ auto-reverse cassette decks? I had a dual deck Yamaha that did all sorts of auto-reverse, I think it had three or four different settings. Also had headphone jack. I sold it for $40 about six months ago. I think it was a CDC-755 or something like that. Maybe a 655?? Anyway, w...
starting a new system with Epos ELS-3 A British amp would mate well with the speakers. Creek and Arcam both make excellent integrated's that can be picked up rather cheaply on A'gon (under 1k). Throw in a Music Hall (CD25), NAD (541I) or Cambridge CDP (500 model??), add a HSU (2 serie...
Hello Wadia Again and Agon I have noticed some of my threads have "disappeared" as well. Based on Audiogon's response above, I am assuming that they were deleted as they were not worthy of keeping. i don't have a problem with this but wished that they would have contacted m...
Belles amp hum ... rf problem? I second Bigtee. I had same problem with a halogen light. On the light's low setting, my amp hummed like crazy. Switch it to the high setting, it basically went away. Toroidal's are very sensitive to this type of stuff.Regards,
UPS is in bed with the devil, I agree with Eagle, just think if they shipped them and damaged them. For sure you would have been SOL.I use USPS exclusively, never had a problem, knock on wood.Regards,
Bullet Plug Question Sorry,I just answered my own question. The pin is exposed on the inside of the bullet plug, not just on the end of the pin. Thnx for looking though,
comments/questions/ suggestions for Agon I would love a way to search for gear (by type) based on a price range; $1-$499, $500-$999, etc. That's about it for me.Regards,
Blue Circle 21.1 vs Eastern Electric Minimax You guys got off easy, just $$. Not only did he hit me up for $20 but he made me promise to name my first son "Gilbert" for some strange reason.Regards, |
