Power cord upgrade for Rowland 8T
I purchased an ESP Essence based on a review using the cord with the 8Ti. I found it used here, and paid a fair price for it. I am not sure that I can provide the same praise that the reviewer heaped on the combo, but I will say that it may provid...
Paradigm 100 v2 vs PSB goldi
I own a pair of 100 v.2's that have been unused for quite some time. When I was searching for a new CD player I auditioned a few with PSB Golds as I think that sonically they are similar, and found the PSBs to have a smoother, more palatable midra...
What sub 500 CD recorder do you recmd?
If your desire is to backup existing music CDs, may I make a suggestion that may cause a sign stating "Kick Me" to appear on my rump, but I truly believe it needs voicing. Go with a computer CD-RW unit, assuming you own a PC. HP, Plextor and other...
"warm " full rangespeakers ,II
In response to the "are these a good start" question, while I own Aerial 10Ts, I would not recommend them if you must have a high sensitivity speaker. The published sensitivity is 86dB, and although I do not know this to be fact, the value may be ...
Shunyata Hydra
I really didn't mean to leave that impression Meta. My problem is that I have a hard time formulating an objective opinion when listening to slow changes during break-in of equipment. I put about 150 hours with 3-100 watt lights on it prior to ins...
Shunyata Hydra
There is a recent post(last week)in the "Cables" forum that provided a few good reviews of the Hydra. "Seeking Opinions .... ", or something like that. I would add more, but after reading the descriptions of the break-in necessary, I think I shoul...
Call to Rowland owners.
Thanks for the input folks. CFB, I'll try leaving the amp fully powered for a few days to see what happens.
Anyone compare Dunlavy vs Aerial
Without delving into the sonic differences, nor the match between your amp (of which I know absolutely nothing) and the speakers you list, I would submit that the Aerials and Dunlavys are not the easiest of speakers to drive, maybe a bit much for ...
Software for Burning CD's??
There was a recent thread titled "Software for CD-Recording" that I found informative. You might look there for some information on software choices and opinions. I'm not sure if you are having problems with the software itself, or just dislike ...
Shunyata Hydra Info Available
Very timely post from my perspective, as I just purchased a Hydra, and was wondering how far to go with cord upgrades. Thanks to above posters for the info.
Marsalis's horn on "JAZZ"
While I am not a horn player (or any other instrument so I have been told), I believe he is using a Monette ... not sure which model. You can find the horns at:http://www.teleport.com/~monette/.
Need DBX Audio site info
They are owned by Harman, and the site address is: http://www.dbxpro.com/. I don't know if you will find what you need there, but they do have support listed.
Bela Fleck and the Flecktones
I believe the disk Piezo refered to is the aforementioned "Tales from the Acoustic Planet", w/ Corea, B. Marsalis, et. al.
Rega Planet vs Cal Audio Labs Icon MK II
I in-home tested the Rega for a week or so prior to buying a player, and to be honest, I was a little disappointed given the reviews of the Planet. I was using a Sony DVP-S7700 for CD playback at the time, and found the Sony a better choice, hence...
Music, Running and MP-3 Compilations
Lawrence.cohen, that is not really the case vis-a’-vis not being a Sony fan. I have and still own Sony equipment, and Sony certainly has (rightfully so, IMHO) a large market share in HiFi. I made a comparison to highlight some of the features that...
