CD player closest to vinyl?
I got one that pops and ticks when I play it but my woofer cones don't go in and out and sway back and forth so I can't help. And I can't sing 'she'll be coming around the mountain' like for a slow meandering black vinyl disc because that dam shin...
The amazing new Marigo Evolution Signature Mat
CoopersarkI appreciate your post a lot. I have a SID mat in a 8k system and I easily hear a positive difference with it on many cd's. And you have provided some useful info for me and I imagine others too. I think it depends on what you are listen...
Do You Love Music or Do You Love Hi-Fi?
Ice cream first and cake second, pie third, tarts forth, my dog sixth. I have probably spent more on them than any music system(just kidding but it might be true) but I do really enjoy music. Schubert nice comment a balanced perspective of reality...
Why CD players will never be dead
I think computerphiles are different that audiophiles. I think the guy that realizes that and produces something high quality and convenient might sell something. If source material, and there is more source material(cd's) than there is in all for...
How tall are Spica Gravity stands for TC-60's?
Thanks RrogI appreciate the info. I will try that as I do have a drafting 't'(my wife's). I have had these ever since they came out (17yrs ago?) for one of my systems and I can't seem to find anything to replace them for most of the music I listen...
Why do you Pick a Certain Speaker producer?
First I let my wife pick it. A happy wife is a happy sound. Then I ask her if it is the right color, size and price. She doesn't care about the sound so I don't either. I think this is actually how I go about it- I have found it takes me about 6 m...
How tall are Spica Gravity stands for TC-60's?
Hello UnsoundNot quite what you asked. But I don't use the gravity stands so I don't know. The stands I use are 24" sand filled 4" oval post 12" base and 10" top. The tweeter sits a about 2" above my ear. That is better for me than at ear level.
why doesn't everyone own a pair of spica's???
I have owned tc-60's for 20 yrs had other systems focal 836, focal 826w, theil 1.2's, vienna acoustics mozart grand. Have heard for many hours each about a hundred others or more(by being associated with some dealers a while ago). I feel if you wa...
Which is more accurate: digital or vinyl?
As a play around guitar player with a variety of them I would say that on my $7,000 system optimized for guitars and stringed instruments it never has fooled me into sounding like it is the real thing(acoustics in real time and space). However the...
Lightspeed Attenuator - Best Preamp Ever?
Agears I hope I did not say mine was better than yours. Even musicians don't agree on sound. But that it is my perspective. I haven't even speculated in this thread as to the reason why, I think I know the simple answer, it is the 'why' in every o...
Lightspeed Attenuator - Best Preamp Ever?
Hey, hey , hey guys. I personally like the LSA to anything I have ever heard, which you can see most of that is on my previous posts. I have experience with real musicians in real space and real time. And from that perspective I find on most non-m...
Adromada III or sumo nine
I have a polaris class a/b. probably more along the andromeda sound. Back in the late 80's I listened to both of them extensively and the polaris to me was had more natural clean harmonic structure such as in the overtones of a guitar. I kind of w...

Help to store hi-rez on external hard drive.
Dob thanks for that input. I think I have picked out 'HQPlayer' to deal with the hi-rez digital files and I do have a Sim Audio Moon 100 dac(great dac)so I still need to get computer side usb-coax adapter for 24-192 files. I think then I will be r...
