Totem Hawk 86 db sensitivity Hawks are great if you won't run them loud. They need at optimum 100W each.Kestrels do also benefit from stronger drive and can sound significantly more loud i.e. having stronger drivers. They're one of my favourite speakers in its class.
unico 80wpc enough for dynaudio contour 1.3 mkII? Listening to Unico I doubted on its power specifications and it seemed to me far less powerfull than it should be.It usually being demoed with light speakers such as Triangle or Coincident but I'd realy doubt the success pairing it with Dyns. I have a vocabulary question. Every signal path consists of forward and return paths.A power cord has the plug with two or three prongs. Two of them are signal ones and one is ground. Signal ones are hot and newtral. Hot is forward and newtral is return.A speaker wire consists...
Cones, Points, Tweaks...??? the second hassle after wires are cones, points and tweaks that realy cost pennies and you pay large hundreds instead.try to develop tweaks yourself. they realy help but shouldn't be on the list of budget allocations. just my $.02
How to go portable?? I wouldn't go for tube headphone amp cuz it won't be portable anymore. You should never bend it and you can't cary it in your bag. You should look-up Headroom ear-amps. Consider AKG240D.
Anyone Bi-amping with tube high & solid state lows a..a!who sais that gain of amp is fixed?? the word "impedance" already dictates that the gain of amplifier is not fixed.crossover interfaces as a "third-party" component limiting visible freequencies of each amplifier.with no active crossover even...
Anyone Bi-amping with tube high & solid state lows Gain controll isn't a bottom line here. The gain should be controlled dynamically unless the amps at the top and bottom end have absolutely identical characteristics. To controll gain dynamically you need an active crossover and remove built-in spe...
Amp blowing fuses Sidssp,does it?
Good ROCK speakers JBL S800 but I've never seen them sold here in US. Probably only erope made ones. Is there any equivalent in US for this model?
Quicksilver Mono 100's 80ma is still high bias current but the good thing that you need to retube with 2 tubes per channel instead of eight or more.as far as i know quickies have pretty solid circuit protection in case the tubes goes bad to blow grid resistor first befo...
Nottingham Audio Space Deck Review I only had a chance to introduce myself to CD after 10 years in early 90's aftery they appeared and had to admit had the same digital dissapointment. Later-on I found out reasons digging through the radio journals and going through the signal test...
Amp blowing fuses It's DC at VK31's output.I'd suggest to replace the preamp untill it's on warranty.
Quicksilver Mono 100's high biased beam tetrodes do produce 100W per pair.the question than lies in its longetivity and overall reliability of the component.
Vandies a good fit ? The bad thing about all Vandys they don't sound immediate and continue to sound when they should stop i.e. there is a presence of parasite resonances probably due to cabinetteless design. To produce quick and controlled bass the driver realy shoul...
What do You listen to? It's easier to say what I don't listen too:crappy folk stuff like Eagles and/or Austin Lounge Lizards;too classical stuff like Beatles or ELP;crappy smooth jazz like Kenny G;all pop and rap. |
