Best headphones under $200 used?
I've done a lot of reasearch and comparison on headphones in this price range lately, and have concluded that Klipsch is a good bet for audio buffs interested in good sounding phones at reasonable cost. I have their $80 buds which are quite good. ...
STI-1000 Overrated or not?
I can assure you it will sound different, not like McIntosh.Which is better? Hard to say. Give it some time for the gear to breakin and your ears to acclimate and see. Both companies make very good gear. Individual preferences and tastes will vary...
Ohm Walsh Micro Talls: who's actually heard 'em?
"And they keep getting better every time I upgrade things upstream."Yes, me too, though I am mostly done now. After some detours trying out other lines out over the years, it still then took me several years of rededicated focus to get to where I ...

"I thought the outboard PS was a nice improvement, especially in making the sound more organic and less mechanical."Shakey,Which mhdt DAC I'm wondering?I use Sb Touch to mhdt Constantine in my main rig and to mhdt Paradisea in my other 2 channel a...
Best CD I've heard so far 2011.........
I heard a lot of good ones in 2011. One that stands out (from late 2010 actually)was "Brain Wilson Re-imagines Gershwin". It is pretty successful as a modern interpretation of Gershwin with Wilson's unique flair applied. Sounds great and an easy a...

With one of my Bel Canto ref1000m monoblocks in for some servicing, I have been running the TAD 125 Hibachi monoblocks in my main rig with the OHM Walshes now for about a week.Gotta say that the TADs have performed much better than I expected even...
Squeezbox Touch USB or SPDIF?
Agree with the "Wolf" man.
Speaker suggestions at around $30k
I often wonder, in general, when one buys an expensive esoteric audio product, does one typically get comprehensive and extended service included with the purchase? Or do the service bills reflect the cost of the product bought bringing up the TCO...
If I Haven't Added Music, Should I Still Back up?
A good backup program will run periodicaly and only back up new or changed files automatically. The Seagate USB drives I use came with a good backup program already installed that does this and works well. I'm sure there are others.
Your perfectly produced/performed studio rock song
"The Theme from Shaft"That's a good one! There is a good version on one of the Stax Anthology CDs. Really sounds good!Bohemian Rhapsody (though over-played on classic rock radio) too.
Speaker suggestions at around $30k
"If you buy used, you get a screaming deal. The original owner takes the depreciation bath"OF course if no warranty, you run the risk of paying a service bill later if it turns out there is a problem. Or taking a bath if no good service is availab...
Efficient speakers with high powered ss amp?
"you never know what it will sound like until you try it "That is undeniably true. After a while, with some experience, there should be fewer surprises though.

Plenty of blame to go around......Lazy people, get up off your butts and do something.Overachieving, greedy elitists, have some compassion for those who need it."Nobody's Perfect, all of the time" No perfect reason...No perfect rhyme...No perfect ...
