Rick Schultz`s new cable
Nice to hear that. Its no fun to drop a small fortune on a "quality" product and then find oneself up the creek without a paddle when something goes wrong.

Truly good products come with truly good service. Otherwise, they may truly become just junk in a blink of an eye.
How selective are you?
When I have to chose, I am fairly selective but still always looking to like something new or different. However, since going with a music server, I spend a lot of time listening to my CD tracks queued up randomly via Squeezebox. I listen to most e...
Steve Hackett's The Shrouded Horizon, 2011's best.
Its very good as are many of Hackett's solo albums over the years...too many gems there to mention.I've become a huge Hackett fan again over the last 10 years or so.HAckett is a very unique and prolific artist, guitarist and composer. His large ca...
Review: Ohm Acoustics Ohm Walsh 100 Series 3 Speaker
Trout,I am not certain but assuming a Walsh "omni" refers to a case where the Walsh/CLS driver output is not physically damped inside the cage in teh wall facing directions like the standard CLS configuration, ie SPLs are the same from the front, ...
Fed up with people making noise at classical shows
MAybe people should be required to go to a training class on proper protocol and etiquette before being allowed to attend classical performances?Really, this stuff bothers me as well but people should really be more worried about how this kind of ...

ROk,I would agree with all points in your last post.
Music Servers-Why so few?
I suspect reasons are that the technology is still evolving rapidly (hence products become outdated rapidly) and the uniform standards needed to make such a product work well for a large and diverse market are not fully in place yet. Give it time....

"Music is music, none of it is better than any other."Kinda like "No Child Left Behind" then I suppose. I know what your saying but find it hard to say that all music is created equal.I suppose it could be argued that fine arts in general appeals ...
Minimus 7
Very good patio/outdoor speakers ( I use a well weathered wood veneer pair that still sound perfect out on my deck still) and very good overall for the size and cost. One of the better cornerstone Radio Shack audio products from years passed.

Wow, I get to the Meyerhoff for the BSO frequently. Didn't realize the BSO was so well endowed. Glad to hear that. The BSO and Meyerhoff is an oasis for lovers of good music in Baltimore. I notice the aging clientele when I go. Lots of grey hair. ...
What makes a speaker too big for a given room?
Good question. Drivers are too far apart to sound coherent in close proximity. Also bass can be too much sometimes and muddy up the sound even further. Also most speakers do imaging and soundstage better if away from walls and this can practically...
Low amount of buzz okay?
No buzz is normal. If you are asking about it its probably worth addressing. Myself, any background noise that i can hear is an issue. I want to hear no noise coming from my gear. The exception is i can handle low level noise (hiss) common with tu...
warm digital cable
MT, You might hear a difference between two cables in any particular system but as Al points out, the results would likely not be reproducable consistently from system to system due to different jitter factors. So it does not seem likely that one ...
What does it take to have a revealing system?
1) Good setup.2) Well matched gear (doesn't have to cost a fortune for most rooms)3) low distortion.
