D-SONIC SOA Class-D Core Amps. The best Class-D ?
McBuddah, you got the stage and my attention at a minimum. :^)
How does one "Get lost in the music"?
So here's the dilemma. If you have high standards in regards to what sounds good, there can be no going back.So the more you spend and the more you tweak and the more you obsess, the more you become doomed perhaps to never being able to settle for ...
How does one "Get lost in the music"?
I can only get lost in my good hifi gear these days. Standards are too high. I can listen to a lot of other lesser stuff down to ipods and table radios, but only get lost in the best. WHen I was a kid, I got lost in teh best I had then, which was ...
Recapturing the JBL L100 Century
JBL are manly looking speakers compared to most. That must be it.
What brand is most recognized by non-audiophiles?
Yeah, whatever is sold in cars and luxury cars also probably has good buzz.JBL came in my Avalon.I have Alpine in my 4runner.I had fantastic Nakamichi gear in my car once. BEst sounding car audio I have had by far.
New to Audiogon. selling my whole system
I view wires as tweaks. A relatively inexpensive and easy way to fine tune the sound when needed. As such, its hard to say one works better than another in any particular case with various gear, even if overall, some may be "better" than others.Wi...
What brand is most recognized by non-audiophiles?
The ones that make A/V gear. That and Apple and then bose. Then whatever else they sell at Best Buy these days. All the rest don't even register.
How would you feel
If I had one already, I would be bothered. If I was looking to buy, I'd be happy.Just one of those things....

Would like to hear more impressions from those who own or have heard more of these newer Class D amps. The huge price range for amps built around the same common core modules is an interesting thing in of itself.

I use audioquest and MIT. Also DNM. Each has their unique traits to recommend them. Like most audio stuff. Its kinda silly to suggest any of these is inherently superior to the others.
Well, worst of is really what this is about
I've had minor aesthetic issues with some used stuff bought relative to pics on ebay, and a piece or two that needed a thorough cleaning inside and out, but really nothing ever truly bad. Most cases when things don't work out as well as I hoped, t...
Recapturing the JBL L100 Century
Yes, some of the newer JBL horn designs have caught my eye, but have not heard.
How does one "Get lost in the music"?
I use the Klipsch s4 buds with my Squeezebox radio in the bedroom. Buds are an acquired taste, and fit and comfort can be tricky, but these sound pretty darn good when properly fitted. Also very good at the pool with Pandora and internet radio on ...
World's Greatest Tenors
Mel Collins has played sax on many of my favorite rock recordings over the years.
Your Preference: Resolution or Fullness?
My experience in general is similar to Jmcgrogan2's. My longest listening sessions tend to be with my speakers that sound fuller. I am able to enjoy the music more for longer periods of time.Listening to/for "resolution" is harder work mentally an...
