Two Subs? I've always found room modes to be an issue with a single sub, ie very noticeable by ear variations in bass levels at different room locations. Also I find that it is possible to address to my satisfaction as long as listening position stays the s...
Advice for new Integrated amp please. I've heard the GE Tritons and Aons. Tritons were not set up well so I did not get a good sense of their potential. Aons were and there was a lot to like. THe folded ribbon delivered what I would describe as a more "polite" top end than other speak...
Most achingly-beautiful music Ebm, not "All the Young DUDES"?Sorry , couldn't resist that one. :^)Mickey and Uriah Heep? Really? Oy-vey!Did they do "Return TO Fantasy"? I love that tune!
Advice for new Integrated amp please. Tube hybrid could be interesting. Rogue seems big into that these days as well. Have not heard, but would expect very good results in general. I do run separate ARC tube pre-amp + Bel Canto Class D amp. BEst of both worlds indeed in many cases. Ve...
Does anyone really need to spend 10k on power Polls are showing 70% + of people want everyone in congress tossed out these days, except their own congressperson, 40% still like them. Same true about their lawyers. Prime candidates for 10K power conditioners as well, maybe? :^)
Advice for new Integrated amp please. I saw my local dealer had his demo Rogue Cronus Magnum up for sale here just a few days ago. I've heard it run Magnepan mmgs with Rel sub there...very nice! I recall the Tritons which I have also heard may be similarly tube friendly as well. Havin...
Tube Amps and Friendly Speakers - Back Impedance THis is a fun question that seems to me to be one of those questions that can only be partially addressed by any answer based on theory. Aren't most questions that way usually as it turns out? Like AL said, too many variables likely to be able to ...
How does one "Get lost in the music"? I am continually lost in the music in that once a note is played, it is gone....but then the next one comes along.....and so on...and so on. No way to preserve any special moment in time perfectly, music or otherwise. Each moment is fleeting... it...
Viagra for Your Ears? Never tried any of this stuff but gotta wonder if Viagra alone might be not be good for your hearing, you know with increased blood flow and all?Just wondering. WHen the time comes I have to rely on prescription drugs in order to just enjoy my mus...
Two Subs? Two or more subs are mostly for balancing bass levels more smoothly across a room, not so much to get more or better bass at any one particular spot, though it may well help achieve properly balanced bass levels more easily there as well.Duke from...
How to meaningfully audition speakers?? Yea, hearing is a limited resource that should be preserved. most sources say that continuous exposure to volumes higher than even just mid 80s Db damages ears ability to hear....so always listen loudly with caution....
Best Speakers for 10' x 12' room? I'd add Dynaudio (chose your model) to the list. Dyns have very good build quality including drivers and often seem to hit well above the average of what you would expect from a speaker in a similar sized package overall. That makes even the small...
Sexiest Pop Song Ever? Don't know how "sexy" this is, but I could listen to Angie Hart of Frente sing the phone book.
How does one "Get lost in the music"? "When you first experience the euphoria of being completely swept away by the sheer beauty and power of music that reaches you emotionally... well, you've found your drug. "I like that!We all respond differently. Chemical treatments may be an easy...
Critique my system... I would not drop more than $100 max on any wire used just for the purpose of taming brightness. You'll probably find better deals on wires to experiment with on ebay than here. |
